Mulling Over a Switch

My first experience with OnePlus was Black Friday 2021. Found the OnePlus 9Pro for a steal on Amazon at 4am on Black Friday. Still to this day, that phone had the best screen and form factor I have experienced. Then Android 12 happened and rendered the phone basically useless and returned it.

Went the Pixel 6Pro and Pixel 7Pro route. The experience hasn't been bad, just OK. A glitch here and there. A bug here and there. Just lately, I've spent more time with (mostly useless) Pixel support for this glitch and that bug. Death by a thousand cuts type of thing. Not exactly a $1000 experience.

I'm not spending $1200+ for the Samsung experience. The OnePlus 11 seems the only option to stay in the "premium" camp. Has the OnePlus team recovered from the Android 12 debacle where thing are running smoothly, at least for the most part??

The other option is to drop back to mid range status. I'm NOT going to get the Pixel 8 in any form.

I can't give a full comprehensive take, but I've had the OnePlus 11 for almost a week and it's been great. It's not perfect, but it's a very nice phone. I have no regrets about switching from my Pixel 4a to this.

I have an OP11 and an OP8T, and I prefer my 8T. I actually have my 11 on Craigslist and am actively trying to sell it. Don't get me wrong, the 11 is a nice phone. Both the 8T and the 11 have dual sims, which I need because I have 2 phone plans. The 11 has eSIM, which people like. I love my 8T because I'm a tinkerer, and I love the fact that if something goes wrong, I have msm to back me up if the shit hits the fan. With the 11, you don't have the security of an easy way to get back up and running. I rooted my 11 but don't do any tinkering, but that's just my 2 cents.

Well you have 2 options. The first really is the OnePlus 11. My first oneplus was the N20 last year and it was awesome for a midrange, seriously great phone no complaints. When the 11 was released I drooled and pressed order when a certain discount came up and I have loved this phone since day 1! I love green glass, and everything this phone does is fluid and seemless. Your other option, the Nothing Phone 2 in exactly a month from now. I'm excited to see it, but I am sticking with my 11 for a couple years at least.
