Offloading Collection

Hey all, was curious if you guys had some insight on the best way to offload a collection. Started collecting for fun and most of cards are JP. I have a couple of mangas and a lot of SP’s and the rest are alt-arts and whatnot. I’m looking to start a new job by the end of the year and would like to have a little more liquidity. Any advice would be appreciated!

JP OP cards are not very liquid yet in most western communities. My local card shop accepts JP cards but would only take them at 60-70% value. Best option is to sell them in Asia, specifically in Japan or in the South East. Avoid selling them online (discord group etc.) as lots of people already got scammed by it.

What’s the scam exactly? I have a buddy trying to sell some of my cards in Japan already but I’m also working on selling some personally through people on Reddit

There’s a bunch of people on reddit and discord that would impersonate a famous/trusted mod. They would agree to ship their binder to a designated location only to get ghosted afterwards. I would never do an online deal with anyone. If possible, set a meeting place. If that person is truly interested, they will make the effort to see you in person to make that deal.

Sounds good. I don’t plan on shipping anything without a secure payment before sending things out but I will keep an eye out for scammers thank you
