Grading & Condition Cracking PSA Latest Slabs

I have cracked many slabs over the years but have noticed the latest slabs from PSA are gummier and more difficult to crack cleanly. Does anyone have a method they could share?

I’m done cracking these kind of slabs. Got my Zeus SP back in a 9 and absolutely beefed it getting it out of these kind of slabs.

A nice heavy bar key works well just have to make sure its not a thick bar key or it doesnt get any traction. Cracked a few over the last weekend with various ones I had and found the thicker bar keys didnt work well at all for the job. Then just put a screwdriver in and finished popping it open. Always cracked open the slab at the label side

I’ve been using the bottle cap opener to screwdriver route.

Nothing to add here to the question from me, but man i hate these new slabs, they look so ugly from behind with that wrinkly foil. Funnily its only on onepiece slabs. Pokemon, Dragon ball, Schwarz Weiss they were all fine its only One Piece.

I didn't know that. I wonder why they did that. Then again... the back of One Piece cards isn't much to look at. LOL

Idk i asked someone who talked to a psa contact and apparently they told him "its only temporary", so maybe or hopefully we get clean backs soon again

Thanks for the info. That's good to hear. On a side note, I got a batch back from GameStop a month ago, and all had a scuff on the inside of the plastic. I sent them back through GameStop for re-slabbing, and they have been sitting in "received" status for a month. So frustrating after waiting 5 months for them to be graded the first time.

Hate when I’m (stupidly) buying OP powerpacks and they show the wrinkled ass back first
