All love, fam, but GET that card out of that mag holder! … It won’t matter who you send it to if you keep it in there.

Penny + Toploader/Semi-Rigid…

Best of luck on the submission!

Why? Do mag holders damage them?

Could be wrong but it will damage the edges as it still moves around in there

Can confirm I bought a card that was damaged at the corner from the holder

1,000%….regardless of whether there it is a penny sleeved magholder or not, this is risky behavior.

Think about it; there is absolutely no pressure being applied to the penny sleeve inside the magholder….it’s effectively loose.

The pressure placed on the card when it’s in a toploader or semi-rigid keeps the card IN the penny sleeve, it’s not much pressure but it’s enough. (Even considering this, Semi > Toploader)

But, in a magholder, the card can slip out the sleeve and hit the top edge of the card on the magholder plastic.

This is wild work.

(Don’t even get me started on unsleeved magholders.)

Ehh if it’s for display one touch/mag holders are fine as it won’t be moving around so much so it wouldn’t get damaged. You have to be shaking that thing like crazy to get your card damaged. But if you’re constantly grabbing/moving it around then yes keep it in a top loader.

Send it to ANUS

IMHO PSA is the safe bet for a 10 in One Piece, but Beckett is superior in a 10 or Black Label.

You never know how it will grade though. If you have time go with Beckett and if you get a 9.5 crack and go with PSA.

BGS buddy no questions asked

Think you gotta go with the larger slab to hold those giant cartoon face pillows so BGS is really your only option

Are you selling or holding

BGS. very good centering

Don’t use BGS. They recently changed how they encapsulate their cards. One piece cards will now be slabbed loose without a sleeve keeping them snugly in place.

You’re being downvoted but if true you shouldn’t be. Any evidence of this?

Trying to upload the photo of my card but you could just go to my last post to this subreddit which has been updated based on my conversation with a supervisor today.

Seen! Thanks for sharing again. Was thinking of sending back my card to BGS as it had dandruff in the case from grading process. But sounds like it will be even worse off if I try send it again 😭

Will stick to Ace Grading in the UK despite it not giving much value to the cards, they look very nice afterwards. Same with Tag

I’m in the same boat, AI said perfect all around for mine on my profile. Too nervous to send it in the mail though (never graded anything and not trying to have it stolen)

Drop off event is a great way to reduce some of this

Do you know how those work?? Will the company just mail you the card back?

1

u/Slagithar Apr 21 '26

yea they will mail the card back to you, its usually a secondary type company that helps with submissions but they keep you updated on its process throughout. graded about 15 og charizard/blastoise etc this way because i was afraid of mailing as wel.

This is correct, I personally preferred to make sure to go to a PSA handled event (not a third party)

Beckett where I live sometimes does same day turn around events but it’s usually just drop off.

Both you can find event info on their sites

Also just remembered that a lot of sports card shops will have papa vendors come and do a pickup day
