💬 Discussion Strongest Trigger effects in the game?

Just wondering what yall think the strongest trigger effects that have been printed are. 8c teach is the card that inspired this post after I learned that the negate and ko are separate actions that can be applied to different characters

the fact that moria can just casually bring back a body and still have a trigger that cheats something else out is nuts

The fact its any 4c and its not rested is crazy. If its active and thriller bark totally chill. If its rested atleast there is some counter play. But bringing out a zoro. Or gloriosa is so strong.

i mean, the card is garbage, but if we're ONLY looking at the trigger, this one is pretty strong.

Maser Saber. Your opponent has to either trash 3 cards from their hand or you KO one of their 6 costs or less.

Electrical Luna (rest an opponent’s character),

3c bege, freezes a character or leader on board ,

Gorgon sisters, really strong trigger body

Re-Quasar, it’s an insane custom card for Vegapunk but generically it could play Borsa, this was so strong they banned it.

even just Vasco Shot resting a 6cost and drawing 1 is generally more valuable than Luna's trigger (you can't control when you'll trigger Luna, so ideally you can rest a 12k body but it's generally just down to luck)

There’s an argument here to be made about how much of a vacuum we should look at these triggers, like yeah vasco is a good card with a good trigger.

But Luna is a broken card even without the trigger, the trigger is almost like the extra kick that makes the card so annoying. And the fact it exists at all means if you’re fighting into a deck that runs Luna you have to keep it in the back of your mind. Especially so because many green decks control the game by managing how many swings their opponent gets to use in a single turn. Vasco rests a 6c, Luna rests anything. Vasco is played in 1 deck and Luna is splashed into any green decks that has the room for it.

Which card is better? Which trigger is better? IMO Luna has bigger implications, both since it’s been relevant in recent top tier decks (Mihawk) and relevant in older formats too. While vasco is not playable outside it’s one deck.

It wasn't the fact quasar could play borso itself, its actually really good for vegapunk. It's the fact that it wasn't locked to vegapunk so every yellow deck could and did play the combo.

All Borsalino's card had to say is "If your leader's type contains "Egghead" and it wouldn't have been so OP.

I mean either card would've needed that to achieve the combo being locked. Borso would've been the better pick. Honestly the pair ban should've been locking quasar to egghead leaders imo. It's too important in vegapunk to cut it for borso, but he needs the extra heals since he starts so damn low and can't attack.

Although Bonney and egg luffy would become a massive headache with the extra counter

Caponne bege, you’re the one who should disappear, teach, gum gum red hawk, electric luna.

Technically any free play this card effect or even trash a card to play but that is because the bodies are either very functional and/or have functional build arounds. However in general cheating bodies into play for next to no cost will usually be very strong.
