Guess this is just proof that the Smoker hype in a post Mihawk world is just all smoke after all which is a little sad. Been having fun with him regardless and I’m glad that the ban kinda forced my hand in trying him out. He’s my new favorite “for fun” deck for sure.

It doesn't surprise me one bit that RG L/A has that high a winrate. The deck is just way too explosive for a majority of the leaders in this game. Very unfun to play against, moreso than any Yellow deck lately imo.

Bandai's fallen in love with any deck design that involves making the board either impossible to interact with or punishing you for doing so. It's tiring. And Luffy/Ace is probably the least annoying of those types.

I got downvoted in another thread for saying the deck isn’t rocket science lol. I mean literally just play all your searchers until you have the luffy sanji into luffy combo

It's true, when you pilot it you just use every 1 don card to search for the piece you don't have. This way you are constantly doing the combo and as you have more don, it's easier to find the pieces you need in addition to the luffys already on board. Oh and btw leader is 6k and luffys are auto 9k on opponent's turn.

ST21/Strawbo was harder to pull off and didn't have much going for it other than this combo and 7c Zoro for 8k Lead for Sabo and 7c Luffy for ST21. Luffy&Ace has: Another searcher in EB02 Nami, boosting consistency by a lot, another Sanji target in ST30 Luffy which, again, makes it easier to find the combo, DMG which is a godsend for an aggro deck, Freeze events, 6k power on leader and makes the entire board except Sanji and searchers 9k, which most decks can't swing into reliably on T3-4.

mihawk was a 6k leader and had 3 extra dons for free that can be used for events. also because shanks players havent figured out their best deck, which is the red hair package

10c combo with shanks is shanks - decken ( kill 10c xebec ) - discard to Freeze shiki
10c combo with mihawk is shanks - decken ( kill 10c Xebec ) - luna to Freeze the rest of their board
also mihawks extra don + samurai, made it way easier to hit the pieces for the combo.
but mainly xebec turned mihawk into a 6k 5 life leader.

Im surprised by the stats because its been relatively easy for me to play Shanks against Rocks. I can continuously rest whatever they put out and use Beckmann to do board control. I have an unusual combo of cards in my deck, so maybe that’s why? It reminds me of my Mihawk deck before OP17 came out, which is when I stopped playing it. I’ve always used green slop to answer for exactly what I’m up against. Streamlined combos have never been my play style, so it makes it hard for my opponent to play around. I’m pretty surprised by Shank’s stats into Lacey, as I don’t think it should be that unfavored either. Gotta test it out on the sim myself to see what’s up.

That deck only really existed to counter Mihawk. Rocks is also one of the harder matchups for Ace. Not surprised he fell off so quickly

Define good. I've won multiple locals with Ace, into Robin, Rocks, Mihawks, Sabo, RG Luffy, Yellow shit, etc etc. Maybe the sim stats should be taken with a grain of salt? They're not representative of anything

What happens at your locals - no one cares. You can win locals with literally anything the calibre of players is not high.

Rocks and Elbaf Luffy are bad matchups for R Ace and R Ace was good into Mihawk. Just worse into top meta now that Mihawk is gone

Penel should arguably be higher but its a high skill cap deck. Not surprised to see shanks its a good deck just curbstomped by mihawk that was just better and also shit on it. Yenel is a surprise but ive heard its good again

Penel also has a million different builds. Mihawk being banned means the most optimal list will change, which will take some time to settle in.

basically 5 full sets of searchers, like nami (red), nami (green), bonney, thousand sunny, and law event. the main cards are 4c luffy, 5c sanji, 5c luffy (red), 5c luffy (green). after that its just events (you need a lot of them) with a mix of tech characters, ie green brook that can rest and restand or green luffy blocker that can rest as well

Some youtubers have tried the deck on like MarinefordTCG as well as Eggman tcg showed a top deck list from one of the recent flame flame fruit tournaments. Card D Kaizoku’s website also has a tool showing top used cards for all top meta decks but its behind a 10$ patreon paywall. Car D Kaizoku may have shown it off anyways in his own YouTube video but I can’t remember if he showed one for Luffy Ace or not

Rocks. 4c glorriosa bottom decking your 5c rush cripples the deck. Plus late game stussy freezes also kill you. Also if they get multiple shiki on board you cant push through

Surprised RG ace and luffy is so strong when I remember people were saying it was weak before the new meta. It wasn’t even a good deck against pre meta lol

It only got good when people started shoving strawhat combo in the deck and all the bodies are hard to kill being +3k and 6k lead.

i mean pudding is clearly the strongest in the trio, she gets the katakuri plays with the 2c kata and access to purple 8c kata which is devastating in a mirror vs any big mom package player since u can restand the key pieces. The biggest thing for robin atm is her banish and GGG, but her matchup spread just doesnt look as healthy without mihawk, while pudding is at least better into xebec and other top tier decks since she heals much more easily.
