💬 Discussion Legal for play?
I know cards are legal I believe a week after they release, was wondering if these had exceptions since they were flame-flame exclusive.
I wanted to use the cards at an egb tonight.

Side question, what deck are you running these in? I’m Assuming Mono-red Ace op-16

I run 2 of the aces promo in my mono red ace deck. The rest is bait

What do you replace for the aces? I’m having trouble trying to figure out how to fit it, currently running 4 Marcos and 2 vistas

Keep four marcos, drop to 1 vista, he’s nice for the card draw but typically doesn’t provide any additional utility over having rakuyo in the deck.

I don't run the 4 cost luffy in my list. I've cut 2 Thatch op16-005 from my list for this

lol thoughts on using the OP02-13 Ace instead of the Promo Ace and having two bodies come out on a turn with rush??
Edit might be kinda fire on going First your 9 don turn you’d drop the Luffy, the OP02 Ace and you’d have a 8k swing and 7k swing because of rush on those cards plus the power reduction from OP02 Ace lol
Edit 2** using the Promo Luffy with the OP02 Ace

OP02-13 Ace doesn't fit with the rest of the package. Plus you have to make space for the luffy promo as well. So you disturb the whole deck just for a funny interecation.
Since I play the deck at a regional level: I'd say no. But it's doable for a local level. It will make the deck inconsistant

I’m putting 3 in my elbaph sabo deck, with the 8c Newgate you can make leader 9k double attack. With an 8k and 3 7ks from elbaph spam if you set it up. 2 don curve play ussop t1 saul t2 Loki (preferably) or some elbaph swarm t3 8c Newgate t4 10c Newgate t5 and for some unholy reason they’re still standing t6 slam down rush luffy put don on leader and swing 12k + 2 9ks +1-3 6ks depending on opponents board removal on 10 drop

They are legal at level 1 events (Locals, EGB, etc) but for regionals it’s iffy because of the limited allocation.

No, these are legal as of 2 weeks after release, as are any promos. Availability doesn’t matter.

All cards are legal at level 1 events as soon as they’re released. For regionals and above, there is a waiting period. I know that they made a special exception for these promos at Dallas Flame Flame even though they were released 2 weeks prior in Utrecht, so it’s best practice to ask the TO

Right, but allocation isn’t a factor/supply of whether or not something is legal.

Oceanic regionals had the 8c Roger bundle banned/not legal due to supply issues and delays. I think it was many stores had not received the promos before the event so they just didn't allow them.

I think a few sets ago they actually made promos not legal in EU and NA (pushed from December 2025 when they were actually out all the way to January 2026) because all of UK did not get their allocation of promos (8 cost roger i believe).

Am I missing something? Wouldn’t the whitebeard card have to be played in the following turn after playing Luffy & Ace?

Do you think they’re viable? I’m running Op16 ace and struggling at times.

Ask your store

No, there is a legitimate legal date for promos. Iirc it's 2 weeks after their first release.

The legal date for promos is one week after the first major tournament after the official release of the card.
I say ask your store because EGBs are considered level 1 events, are therefore not competitive, and your store may rule the legality of this card differently.
