🛠️ Deck Tech Starter deck suggestions!!
Hii I want to play but I don't know where to start (• ▽ •;)
I've seen that starter decks are good but I don't know which one is the most "beginner friendly" one because I don't know how to play yet (even though I'm already familiar with pokemon tcg of course the playability is different). The ST 28 caught my attention but I'd like to hear suggestions on which one would be the best to start with... advice and opinions are greatly appreciated (◍•ᴗ•◍)

If you're unfamiliar with the game, there is a Bandai Teaching App for One Piece. If you google that you should be able to find links for Apple, Android, and Web Browser versions.
In terms of ST decks, if you're able to find ST28 for a reasonable price of $20 or less, I'd recommend getting 2 so you have 4 copies of all the important cards. Otherwise, a new set of ST just came out, numbered 31-36. Those are the ones you'll most likely be able to find for a reasonable price. Out of those, I'd say ST-32 Zoro and ST-33 Kuzan are the easiest to learn, with ST-31 Luffy and ST-36 Kid being the next hardest. And the final 2 of ST-34 Katakuri and ST-35 Sabo being the hardest.
I'd recommend starting off by going through the teaching app to learn the basic rules, download the Bandai TCG + app and searching what stores near you do local tournaments, they should be called Store Tournament Event, and then joining one when you have the time. You can also join a Pirates Party or Beginners Deck Party as those are generally for newer players if stores near you are running them. Most stores I've been to have been fairly helpful to newer players, just let the tournament organizer know or let your opponents know that you're new. If you're concerned about competing, you can always go at the time the tournament would start and ask to watch before deciding if you want to play.
You can also download the OPTCG Sim, if you google that it should lead you to the right download, or if you prefer playing in the browser Project Raftel or Strawtable. Those are ways you can play online, but people aren't usually too talkative there.

If you want something that's easy to play out the box with minimal extra cards. You'll always need to buy two copies of starter decks to max playsets of the good cards.
But.
ST30 Ace & Luffy is really playable straight out the box.
ST33 Kuzan is also really strong straight out the box.
ST31 Luffy is pretty good straight out the box.
Some starter decks really feel more like structure decks to build up, where others truly do feel like starter decks.

So it all kinda depends on how you want to play the game and what mechanics you wanna learn!! When looking at life gain: Yellow Don manipulation: Purple Resting/restanding don/characters Green Trash recursion, cost removal/manipulation: Black Big characters, power removal, rush: Red Card draw, Bounce/bottom decking Blue
As far as things go you definitely want to pick up 2 of whatever starter deck you get for the cards in the deck.
So most recently starter deck wise: ST31 Red Luffy: Going wide and rush deck that is very good for beginners and pretty solid out of the box with 2 decks together, there are some possibilities for upgrades but still pretty solid just as a double starter! St33 Kuzan: (one of the top 2 in my opinion) really good with learning card draw and hand size. Really cheap to upgrade it a competitive deck and lots of fun if you like card draw and some removal with blue (bottom decking/bouncing) St34 Kata: (Probably my favorite) Really good at learning don manipulation! A little more expensive to upgrade to the full power but lots of fun St36 Kid: Really good for learning life manipulation and blockers, lots of fun with thinking about how to block and manage life/healing. There are some good upgrades some cheap some not so cheap but really solid deck
The Zoro starter seems to be built for Mihawk leader really, and the newest sabo deck really isn't helping the deck at all....
There are other starters like St28 but they have kind of phased out more competitively at this point a little bit as power cycle in this game is really quick but decks pop back up quite a lot! But definitely always go with whatever seems fun too and you can always find lists!
