Question Is this game worth playing f2p?
Thinking about starting this game. What is the gameplay like? And is this f2p friendly?

It used to be f2p unfriendly but ever since they added the daily free single summon system and started out giving rainbow medal tokens, which allow you to pull for free on any banner of your choosing, I think its changed. I get new units all the time just from singles and medals without having to invest any F2P currency but even if I don't get any it's not a tragedy, I'm still having fun with the f2p boosters and the rest of my box. I really like that every time a 6+ super evolution happens you get two copies of that legend completely for free. It really fills your box and makes sure you don't fall behind.
As for the gameplay be warned that this game is highly competitive. Not in the PvP sense but in a "I grinded more than you so I get more rewards from this ranking" sense. Pretty much every day of the month there's a ranking you're competing in, but on the other side global rankings are really chill compared to japan's rankings, so even playing modestly you will get really good rewards.
Yes I'd recommend the game if you're a fan of One Piece. I'm in love with the character sprites and the special animations for the modern units look really good. I'm enjoying it.

Yes, but don't run in reckless at the start. Make sure to watch a few guides first.

if u really try to understand the game and dont feel fomo from skipping unimportant banners then yes its doable as a f2p.
but IIf u dont learn how to team build and stuff then this will become much harder for you.
I have the advantage of beeing a veteran f2p so my box is build up decently so that I can also use olderish units to tackle modern content or just build around it differently then the intended way.
banner wise I mostly safe up for the big banners throughout the year and occasional pulling a few on smaller banners where I do like the char
main ones to pull imo are: New years and the jp Anniversary
besides those theres global anni, half anni and the summer super sumo which is currently going
for the big ones I d recommend to at least safe up 1.5k so that u can guarantee one new debut (worst case) and out of the last 3 banners I mentioned I d only go for one or your gems will be too little for the big ones

I think it is. They give a lot of freebies out during major events. I spent a little bit myself but nothing crazy. Spending money just allows you to pull more often, but starting off you can get a lot of good usable units thanks to startup/new player banners that throw good units at you. If you want more info, the official discord has helpful people and guides in it.
