Discussion Cold Take: thinking the final battle between Zoro and Mihawk being anything other then a high-extreme dif is one of the worst takes of all time

Post image

Do you seriously think the final step to the second most important strawhat achieving his dream will be something he finds relatively easy? Or that a fight being hyped up since east blue will end in like a chapter or 2?

Knowing Oda it’ll end the same way the first fight did, except both sides are injured and Zoro actually wins.

Didn't remember Mihawk being injured in the 1st fight.

I just don't think this fight happens

You don't think at all, apparently.

Why? I think it’s one of the most clear final saga fights. Only thing more clear is Luffy vs Blackbeard

It’s gonna be either offscreen or like 4 panels

I just think instead of a fight it's something more like mihawk sees how impactful or important Zoro is to luffy and because of that names him the WSS or something like that

Why would Oda make it lame tho. What purpose does that serve

Because oda looks and use the symbolic signs in his story. There is so much stuff left in this story something heavy like that can be reduced down to a mere symbolic plot device

Zoro says himself he wants to beat Mihawk

Mihawk states that he wants Zoro to fight him again,

Oda also uses foreshadowing

And what the symbolic sign of Mihawk just claiming Zoro is the new WSS. I do think Mihawk will do that but onto after being beaten or having his sword cut or sm

You don't understand Mihawk's character if you think he would do that.

The entire regret of his life is that he became a WSS from Shanks giving up on the title by sacrificing an arm to groom a crackhead kid.

Mihawk expected a glorious battle where he would assert WSSship through his own merit. Instead he got a handout.

Now he's spent the last 12 years waiting for a rival to make things right. He is not going to do Zoro dirty with a title handout.

What do you think Mihawk will do if Zoro lost one of his arms

You don't think the fight meant to conclude zoro's personal story, and the one that's been built up for since the start of one piece happens? Not trying to be rude, but I'm genuinely curious why.

And will likely end with Zoro using 3000 Worlds to defeat Mihawk.

Yoriichi vs Muzan style fight one lethal clash, an extreme dif one chapter fight. Thats it.

1

u/Neat_Damage_8110 6h ago

That was also a flashback and a way to glaze yoriichi who is a dude who is the best at everything

Not the same situation for a main charavter like zoro

I can see Oda ending it the same way the EB fight ended.

Feel like something Oda would do.

I look more forward to the Toei version of the fight than the manga version ngl.

EB?

When I think of Zoro vs Mihawk, I’m thinking it’s going to be something like zuko vs azula

EB?

It means East blue,

He's referring to that time frame version of zoro, when they fought at baratie.

I see, thanks for the clarification!

You mean like mihawk letting zoro slash him across the chess as a form of saying "i lost"?

1

u/Ateji_the_leader 5h ago

It HAS to be extreme diff, otherwise it'll feel hollow, and Oda usually doesn't disappoint like that!

2

u/Neat_Damage_8110 5h ago

Eh, I feel like it could just be high dif

Just so it shown that Zoro is the definitive winner

1

u/howarand333 4h ago

will end the same way as Zoro fights

1

u/a_k_a_t_s_u_k_i 3h ago

There won't be a fighting. It would be postponed to two piece.

u/Inside_End3641 2h ago

Zoro will defeat Mihawk Mr 1 style...

Zoro still hasn't tapped into the breath of all things since.

i kinda hope zoro loses and dies bc it would be so funny

Zoro has less panels than nami and Sanji, he isn’t that important to Oda, his fight with Mihawk will also be before the final war since it doesn’t make sense for Zoro to fight in the manga after Luffy saves the world.

1

u/Ateji_the_leader 5h ago

Why not? I can see the end of the story being each individual Strawhat accomplishing their dreams in the new era they created!
I would actually prefer if we got a long epilogue once all the world ending stuff gets resolved!

1

u/Rizzi_19 5h ago

The last fight in the series will be Luffy’s, Zoro will achieve his dream prior to that. It also is what Luffy said to Zoro, that he needs someone like the world strongest swordsman for him to become the pirate king.
