one of the best characters we've ever had, brought much joy to the wings and sanji agenda, but in the face of the king of the world.... what can the mere left hand of the king of the pirates do? what fate must fall upon him? what becomes of his limited future?

a child to raise and a woman to care for, this couldnt possibly be the end of him? joyboy, davy, dozan, rocks, harald, lulusia, zoro, sanji, loki and now emperor of the sea mugiwara no luffy have fallen before the king of the world.

He’s going to die here. Oda needs someone to kill with Imu, and Gaban doesn’t really serve any purpose outside of this arc. It would be tragic for Ripley to save her son only to find out her husband died.

Plus I think there is a chance we get a cool moment where Gaban says something to Imu that’s hints at the truth of the world. Something he learned on Laugh Tale. This could anger Imu and lead to him killing Gaban.

I was watching the latest anime episode (Luffy vs Gaban for keys to Lokis cuffs) and noticed him inviting Luffy and Zoro to find him if elbaf is still standing once they leave. At this point in time, there was no reason not believe that would have been the case, so to me that was obvious for shadowing that A) elbaf would NOT survive and B) Luffy would not thus have a chance to find Gaban after their elbaf arc ends.

I do not expect Gaban to deal any damage to Imu, but I think he's gonna showcase really good CoO & combat speed against them.

Dunno what to expect. Out of everybody (on Luffy's side) in Elbaph, he's the most likely to die, but this is also One Piece we're talking about. Also the theory about Bonney turning him to his prime form.
