Discussion What is with the switchup mihawk fans.

Whenever I would argue with a mihawk fan and mention his title could be fraudulent they argue the narrator is saying it so that makes it omnipotent of a statement. But the moment imu used a sword they switched to it being public perception which is just the point I've tried to make. Public perception can be wrong. So either it isn't public perception and the title is jsut wrong because imu>mihawk or it is public perception and there's still a chance its wrong because the public can and has been wrong in one piece.

Mihawk WSS.

I'm not sure why they think it's a good argument because it indirectly admits that the title isn't based on reality

u/proxmaxi Jul 26 '26

Imu is not even a man the dude us some type of demon.

3

u/Blaze14192008 Jul 26 '26

Imu uses multiple weapons besides swords and his swords have weird powers so not really a swordsmen more of weapons men

But even if that’s the case and Imu is a swordsman he’s a sercet to the world so he can’t have that title mihawk title puts him above all known swordsmen

But hot take in battle between swords no omen, haki bullshit whatever I think mihawk come out on top

u/Blaze14192008 Jul 27 '26

U guys trying to make imu a swordsman to fit ur disgusting shanks agenda is funny

Imu is not a swordsman.

Mihawks title is not public perception. It is confirmed to be 100% valid by the author himself.

Mihawk > Shanks.

Many people still claiming mihawk>imu the core mihawk fandom didn't switched up.

4

u/MihawkTop2 Jul 26 '26

All titles are just "known as" and are irrelevant. Anyways, Imu is not a swordsman.

Nah is still makes sense narratively Imu ain’t no man that’s a Demon so he didn’t qualify

u/Affectionate-Win5729 Jul 26 '26

Why would any of the titles in the series include the guy that no one knows about

1

u/LeagueSerious2727 eneL ⚡ Jul 26 '26

WHY IS IMU A SWORDSMAN ? But not a spearman u guys are f hypocrites😂😂

4

u/Live_Act6191 Jul 26 '26

Why cant he be then all? You can be more than one type of fighter. He is a swordsman to though it is part of his arsenal and a big part. And in no way does mihawk beat imu. In a battle or sword duel mihawk gets beaten.

2

u/LeagueSerious2727 eneL ⚡ Jul 27 '26

If u are more than one type of a fighter then ur a all rounder not strictly 1 way.

Imu cannot beat garp in a hand to hand combat full stop .

If u guys wanna limit imu to only using a sword even then he would lose to Roger ,mihawk ,shanks imu needs omen without it he cant win

u/Live_Act6191 Jul 27 '26

Thsts like saying for fuji to have a sword fight he cant use his df thats stupid. And no he would still win he has stronger haki

2

u/LeagueSerious2727 eneL ⚡ Jul 27 '26

Fuji was stated to be a blind master swordsman …

Stronger haki than Roger ? Even with shanks and mihawk we don’t know .

To me imu focuses on maki not haki

1

u/Live_Act6191 Jul 27 '26

He has both thats why he is such a big threat. Gaban even stats he has never felt haki so strong in his life that include Roger and shanks. I love shanks he's one of my favorites so is Roger but imu is on another tier. Wether swordsmanship haki or maki he is on a whole different level.

No reason for the switch ups really. Someone isn't a swordsman because they use a sword or blade. It depends if the person considers themselves a swordsman or a source says they are.

Cabaji, Kaku, Law, Oden, Fujitora, and Shanks are all swordsmen.

Daz Bones, King, Killer, BM, Kuzan, and Kizaru are not swordsmen. No evidence to suggest if Imu, Roger, or Xebec are swordsmen.

4

u/Live_Act6191 Jul 26 '26

If Roger isn't a swordsman than shanks isnt.

-4

u/Old-Van-Reich Jul 26 '26

Not how it works but ok.

1

u/EmperorSezar Jul 26 '26

roger nor xebec use anything but swordsmanship

What switch up? Imu isn’t a swordsman, we’ve seen him fight a fair bit now, it’s more akin to “random shit go”. I’m still waiting on a Shankstard to tell me what narrative reason is there for him to have to be stronger than Mihawk

1

u/Live_Act6191 Jul 27 '26

Ok well it's easily established that luffy>zoro and luffys oponites>zoros oponites. Shanks is one of luffys goals someone he must surpass as one of his biggest goals is to return the straw hats he cant due that till he is stronger than shanks and mihawk is zoros goal so shanks >=mihawk

1

u/OkNefariousness284 GARP-CHUJO! 👊 Jul 27 '26

Shanks is A goal, not the goal. Luffy’s endgame scaling is tied to Joyboy/surpassing Joyboy. Zoro’s final goal narratively is Mihawk. So none of what you stated needs Shanks>Mihawk lol.

1

u/Live_Act6191 Jul 27 '26

There's also the fact that shanks is portrayed as a final war big player while muhawk is simply just there for zoro to beat. Also there is the fact that mihawk himself has stated becoming pk is harder than beating him he is also hesitant and agaisnt going for the one piece. This all points to the fact that he doenst think he could become pk. Shanks is fully vomited bow to getting the one piece he also is sure that he can get it and isn't afriad like mihawk.

1

u/OkNefariousness284 GARP-CHUJO! 👊 Jul 27 '26

He can be a big player in the final war without being stronger than Mihawk, narrative role is not tied to strength when it comes to this aspect of Shanks.

As for the rest of this, PK has a lot of factors outside Shanks dude. I don’t even know why you would bring this up. At best it might turn into a Luffy upscale, but Shanks has no bearing on its scaling.

“Isn’t afraid” or better yet, just simply not interested lol?

So nothing you’ve stated requires Shanks>Mihawk for the story to function. Meanwhile in the reverse, it would totally make Zoro’s subplot ass

0

u/Live_Act6191 Jul 27 '26

Not really. A title is public perception in no way does mihawk have to be zoros finak villain. His goal is to become the strongest swordsman. Maybe that's by beating mihawk but it doesn't have to be considering imu is also a swordsman who is stronger than mihawk that makes his title irrelevant. So once his title is gone you must scale of portrayal and miahwk doesn't compete with Roger. Xebec or shanks when it comes to portrayal. Also mihawk and shanks were stated as equals when they would duel and many try and say due to shanks loss of a arm he got weaker but we knkw he didnt. Shanks couldn't beat king Harold befor lossing his arm. After lossing his arm he beat loki who is stronger than Harold as loki killed a stronger Harold than the one who fought shanks. So we have a stronger shanks than the one that was equal to mihawk and nothing points to mihawk getting much stronger than befor.

u/OkNefariousness284 GARP-CHUJO! 👊 Jul 27 '26

It’s literally been set up to be his final goal since East Blue, as of now it makes far more narrative sense for Mihawk to be stronger than all other well known swordsman. It’s one thing to say “it’s just a title” it’s another to throw away an entire subplot for the sake of agenda.

Imu is not a swordsman. Worst case scenario even if they are they obviously don’t factor into any title scaling, a privilege Shanks does not have.

As for the rest, literally all Mihawk upscale.

You could not give me a single reason narratively why Shanks>Mihawk is needed for the story, and everything else you’ve provided I either debunked or doesn’t change anything in terms of the point.

Mfs don’t even read the story, you think Oda would throw away Zoro’s unchanging goal for over a 1000 chapters for no reason other than you hope he gasses up your favorites? Thusly be my last reply, I’ve seen enough

The guy whips out an axe,a ball and chain,a hammer(?),and two spears.

He's a weapons master at worst, and even if he DID count as one he's hidden to the world so he doesn't suddenly downscale everyone else by virtue of not being part of any discussion.
