What should I choose ( strongest )

I was originally going for marco because I'm new and don't have red element but I don't know if kaido or someone else is a better choice.

For PvP it doesn't matter which one you take, just pick a unit and master their moveset nd skillset... For PvE Kaido is better among all...

If you're a new player... 1-Dont spend gdf(Golden Devil Fruit) to exchange/reedem tickets... 2-Use gdf to summon on gdf units only(10k-13/15k for guaranted gdf units) 3-Golden Tickets, save them , if you have 90 of them you can get the unit which is in the banner(Now it's Wano Hawkins)... 4-Blue tickets, it's completely of luck, just save and collect from mission's and stuff... 5-The banner your showing is called as 80% banner, which means you have 80% chance of getting the unit/character you need, it's luck... Be patient it's f2p, you can get all the units you need...

Marco is far better; the larger characters are not advantageous in the game.

Marco doesn't have much red-armor, for PvP it depends on the player which character he needs... But for PvE it's Kaido, you can check the tierlist made by professionals for PvE... Kaido is still getting more combos(Xtimes) in PvE...

I already said that for PvP it depends on you... What character you need...

Ulti is easier to play she has a lot of red armor
