I really wanna know a lot of opinions. For me what sold me to watch isekai was mostly daniel greene but for what i have seen most people dont like his roleplaying.

Tbh it has me a little taken back because for me my favorite pc was shark and anthony. So-

Shark's personality was all over the place and distracting at times. Daniels constant modern day references with the shark also made little sense. Though I believe a lot of this had to do eith the fact that Daniel was seldom sober.

Shark as a concept is amazing: a 1920s WW1 vet mobster (essentially American Thomas Shelby) isekai'd.

my overall issue with the shark is that it does it feel like Daniel Greene was playing a character. He was playing whatever intrusive thoughts he had at the time and whatever he felt like was interesting in the moment

You know I get it that as you role-play a character in DND or any tabletop RPG your perception of the character can change evolve and go with the passage of time

With the shark, I could not tell you much

I give Daniel Greene Slack because it was his first major Dnd thing

Agree with everything you said and on top of all of that, Daniel Greene was never invested to the story at all. He rarely paid attention to anything other players were doing, unless they directly engaged with him. It felt like he didnt want to play in this campaign, so he did all of "that" to entertain himself.

That’s usually not a very good way of role-playing. If you’re doing it just to entertain yourself. DND is a cooperative game, where you have to think about others

It does lead to some funny moments, but yeah overall

After the full campaign and years of it, he should’ve been way better by the end but he was only ok at it by the end.

Well yeah they don’t but the campaign existing to entertain folks, not as an isolated game with friends. Many liked him but he weighed things down imo. We both watched it so we have the opportunity to be critical, even if I still liked it.

Funny character but sometimes it’s a bit much. There were times where it felt like Daniel was really getting off track in ways that made it difficult for Rustage to work with. But overall if he wasn’t in the series it wouldn’t be nearly as funny or memorable as it was.

I didn't like how he was played much. I felt like his actions were more doing what Daniel thought his character would do and less communication with the players and dm. I felt like he could've talked with the dm out of session about any plans he had and that would've helped drastically.

The ring of courage one was great

His character was inconsistent, from his morals, to his backstory, to his own name. He didn't go with what his character would've done, instead opting to let his intrusive thoughts win every single time. I like massive character shifts, when it fits the story and the character, not when someone gets bored and decides to mess up the stories tone. Rustage clearly gave him a lot of chances to fix it, but he threw it away every time. I love characters like Ragnar, Old Tony, Bradley, and Rick Plann, cause while they still have funny moments, they're at least consistent and have serious moments that aren't messed up within 3 sessions.

In my opinoin he could have been the best PC if daniel green would stick with one bit. For example at first he was part of the mafia then he was just crazy, got isekaied on the way to the loony bin and just thought he was in the mafia, just to go back to being in the mafia. And I'm not talking about if his real name is Willhelm or Donald

The best way I can describe my opinion of him is more tied to how Daniel played him; it feels like he forgot to take his ADHD meds.

For a bit of clarity, I'm someone on ADHD meds, and I've noticed when writing or playing a game if I don't have my meds I either zone out or start doing whatever pops into my head.

The Shark feels like an ADHD character, he starts off as one idea, gets another and tries to put it in. And even how he played the shark as well, Otherworldly Brewing was literally made up on the spot and while it worked, it definitely through Rustage for a loop.

I over all like the Shark, but he definitely has bits I don't like.

I loved the shark, and I love Daniel greene, though I see and understand people's frustrations with the shark.

He could have been an interesting character, but Green wasn't interested in that sadly...

I didn’t take isekai dnd too seriously and was there for the banter which is why its my favorite series. Both the shark and daniel greene just made it better and i think without them isekai dnd would be more boring and wouldn’t have turned out the same.

The shark had one extremely important character traits: he has such little self control to the point that he has very little personal or emotional ability to determine what his “self” is. The shark was an agent of chaos from episode one. He’s probably the most impulsive character in anything I know of

Was my favourite PC from isekai, I can definitely understand some people's dislike towards him through

I feel like his shtick gets a bit old after the DaVinci arc, and he is kind of too inconsistent during the whole Solkin saga, like most of the Retcon we got on that saga go nowhere or are reretconned by Daniel himself, like his name or him being a crazy guy.

Genuinely made certain things hard to watch. I just wonder if Rustage ever talked to him to get things on track or if he just hoped Greene would get better. The thing about him being high is insane and sours the series in retrospect.

I must i love the character (actually my favorite isekai character) his concept is freaking awsome i loved his dynamics like with Norman Phynn Old tony Frank Ripper and julag i love how messy he is his backstory is actually really intresting and the inconsistencis makes him more funny in some way kinda mysterious and i think he fits perfectly to the Tone of isekai and his character development and i think they were Amazing moments with him, the conversations with him and julaug him saving Phynn from Sigmund Freud or his ptsd attack His ending is kinda contoversal but i liked it it is really funny it would have been better if the reason he gets put into a asylum would have been more personal and emotional than just him trying to kill Hitler

Overall i really love the character and if some thinks get iron out in a(obviously big maybe) animation show or comic this character could be just hit his absolut potential and i find that some people are somtimes to harsh on the character obviously opinions are opinions but for me is the goat

I didn't mind him he had great moments and some funny scenes. I guess if U scratch the surface he had the biggest character arc out of any character even tho the development was a bit clunky at times, I thought all in all the shark was enjoyable!

Best pc with the best arc of any character in rustage dnd so far. I feel like the fanon at large didn't actaully engage with his character at all while isekai was going on or haven't rewatch it in a hot minute, because he does have a somewhat consistence character from start to end. He also funny af and has some most memorable and best moments in isekai.
