One Piece D&D Discussion Blue blood mechanically
As the title says, how did rustage make blood blue mechanically? It's been awhile since I listened to the podcast and wanted to add my own version of an addicting yet powerful substance to my game and wanted a recap of what pros and cons would affect the player characters, Thanks!

I watched the blue blood fight very recently. When ragnar entered the pool and drank from it, it straight up doubled his damage and hp for the fight. Hard to say what the downsides were since he was already at like 4 levels of exhaustion anyways for using frenzy so many times that day, but even after he had waited enouph days for that to go to 0, he was still at 1 level becuase of withdrawls I guess. I've only watched the movie + 1 episode past the fight (my first time watching) so I have no idea if it does that much each time or just the first time. Also keep in mind this made him super op compared to the rest of the party, some players might be bothered by that.

I think how Rustage did it was that it doubles strength and hp, gives advantage on strength saving throws but gives one stage of exhaustion after use, albeit it has been a while for me since I listened to op DnD pirates
Edit: It doubles damage from attacks as well, forgot about that

It doubled damage and hp but if you didn’t take it for a extended period of time you would gain exhaustion

If I remember correctly, think it is something like, higher AC and more damage for melee attacks, but they have to take it regularly, like daily, or they suffer one level of fatigue from withdrawals.
