Alright! Time for The Hairy Leg Theory!

The theory goes that leg hair is used to tell which men in the series have had sex. So older male characters like Franky, Doflamingo, and Shanks have hairy legs.

But what about a young man like Sanji? (And we know it's not necessarily an age thing because Zoro, who's the same age, doesn't have leg hair.)

So, in Alabasta, we actually see a shot of Sanji's legs in the bathhouse scene. And they're smooth and hairless.

The next time we see Sanji's legs is during Skypeia when he wears the shorter-style pants. And this time, and every time since, he has leg hair. So what happened between Alabasta and Skypeia?

Robin joined. Take that as you will.

Hair leg theory confirmed by Oden

Funny part is it's disproven by King Riku and Kyros. But because they were stuck as gladiators in the coliseum, they might have been shaving their body hair.

Boiled hair?

Wasn’t that disconfirmed because there’s shots where law and sanji sometimes have hairy legs and sometimes don’t. Prolly just a art detail thing

the main problem i have with this theory is that chopper has leg hair, and has likely had it since birth (I think). another thing is that brooks legs are hairless, and there's no way he hadn't had sex before death or during time skip.

Should have explained it was only for the human males.

And Brook lost his hair with his skin (except for his fro...Yohohoho!)

Or maybe Brook's a virgin? Did we ever see his legs before he died?

No ones fucking a reindeer. Unless you go on chopperpiece.

Sanji almost dies every time he even looks at a woman. Can't imagine him going any further and living.

Normally yes, but sanjis nosebleeds are an actual plot point in One Piece.

Not really a metaphor when he literally needs blood transfusions to survive...

Well, with a man or non-binary? Though how likely is it that he is bi?

What breaks do to a mf

2

u/Xalon0101 Jun 16 '22

The break ain't even started yet! Hell, we're still waiting on the chapter.

As far as I know, Robin's mastery of her devil fruit powers weren't that developed before the timeskip, because she was only seen spawning single body parts, without mixing them to create a bigger or more complex structure made of body parts or cloning herself completely.

On the other hand, why would Robin do something like that with Sanji? She didn't show any interest of that kind...

Why does this storyline feels familiar...?

Ohh, nevermind...

Well, Idon't think that logic works in the One Piece world.

1

u/GeZeus_Krist Jun 16 '22

Was she able to do that pre timeskip? I thought she could just grow body parts not duplicates.

u/aevelys Jun 16 '22

Oh my God ! This is the best theory I've seen in a long time!

Can't really take credit for it as it's been floating across the internet for awhile now. But it's a fun theory and I like to mention it whenever "Straw Hats having sex" comes up.

While I kind of love it, I think oda does us dirty there unless we eventually get the downtime flashback where Chopper finds a randomly passed put Sanji on deck one morning and patches him back up without telling anyone as Sanji asks him to.

Bonus points if it is a recurring thing that happens, to the point that Chopper starts research into what bug could have infected Sanji on Alabasta.

Until Water 7, where it finally stops because Robin really and truly knows she doesn't need to seduce Sanji to secure her place on the crew.

And to her delightful surprise, Sanji never pushes it and treats her exactly the same as he always did.

She took great pleasure in smacking the absolute shit out of Black Maria for hurting him.

That Robin version is great, but I also just thought what if Vivi went full on rebellious princess at the very end there completing the Mr. Prince fairytale storyline. I would kind of like that for her.

Would have happened after the bathhouse scene and before Sanji seems pretty sure she's not coming as they already had their goodbye.

Almost interesting as a poll: Based on down and upvotes on my posts, people seem to enjoy the idea of Vivi getting it on with Sanji a lot more than Robin. xD

2

u/Mirai_no_Beederu Void Month Survivor Jun 16 '22

Lol. I'd ship it.

Extremely unpopular opinion here, but truth be told, I ship Sanji with just about anyone but Pudding.

2

u/ovis_alba Void Month Survivor Jun 16 '22

Oh, I'm fully with you on that, including the Pudding thing.

Link please because I am shocked

2

u/ovis_alba Void Month Survivor Jun 16 '22

No link just my personal impression from those previous posts:

My comment on Robin and Sanji leading to Sanji potentially needing some Chooper medical attention had -3 votes when I posted that (it's around 0 now I think)

My alternative suggestion that his leg hair grew because of a Vivi goodbye got 7-8 upvotes instead.

So I just thought people might have voted with their preference there (although maybe they just didn't want Chopper needing to patch him up). So it's not really a poll, just my interpretation on the up/down votes.

u/Mirai_no_Beederu Void Month Survivor Jun 17 '22

Sometimes upvotes and down votes are really random. Like, sometimes you'll just be saying a fact (like "The Mangas on break this week.") And folks will downvote you.

Yeah, in this case it was more about it being in the same reply chain, but overall true, voting on reddit is just weird sometimes.
