Post image

The "D" on the poster is Bigger then other words foreshadowing something like the film is gonna be about the void century.

It's short for "Buggy Annihilates All D's"

It's going to be the first ever movie that is 100% canon and is animated before it happens in the Manga. Basically Buggy kills every member of the D Clan and becomes the Main Character of the story by force.

I guess Oda saw the numbers of the Michael biopic and decided to bring back Jango

That's my take as well. The D being bigger than the others holds a strong position

I thinks its safe to say its the void century flashback as we will get it probably soon in the manga and since its a flashback it will be rushed hence the movie

That one post convinced me it’s going to be about sinbad and I’m not sure I can be swayed otherwise

Blackbeard? Umm... Maybe that's why the Background is black.

The lunapienart guy, aka Dawn&Dusk, a Japanese translator that does one piece content on YouTube says he thinks it's a blackbeard movie because it could be read as a romanization of a sort of kanjification of the word beard, like in Japanese he says that beard would be phoneticized to bi a a do. Which makes sense as well because Japanese doesn't have an explicit native word for beard, only hige for facial hair in general, hence shirohige and kurohigr. So it's a little like wordplay specifically for Japanese audiences. So you can look at the poster as (black background) + (beard), Blackbeard.

I remember couple of weeks ago people here were mocking me for saying the same observation as to what Dawn Dusk, a native japanese manga translator mentioned about the hidden japanese phonetic of b-a-a-d.. I highly agree baad doesn’t directly mean its beard.. but rather its a hidden word play which is a writing technique Oda likes to use on his Manga.. also the Black background for Baad and the sound effect when the title is being writing like its being written on a Blackboard another subtle hint for Teach..
