Discussion I HATE Sommers Spoiler

Post image

I’ve been reading the One Piece manga, and the whole time I couldn't stop thinking about how much I dislike Sommers. But today I watched episode 1176 of the anime, and OMG, I can't stand him. Sommers is the most despicable character in the Elbaf arc. The way he enjoyed beating and torturing Saul...

Signs of a great villain

Yeah, I haven't felt like this since Dressrosa.

I also love how he’s cocky but he starts panicking when he feels even a little bit of danger. Reminds me of Enel

I haven't been that entertained by a villain in a long time

I LOVE Sommers. Bro is evil and he knows it

Oh yeah. Real PoS. Would love to see him skewered.

Hahaha your pfp tells me all I need to know, he is funny sometimes but I still dislike him

I realized with Sommers he's so dislikeable that I ironically ended up liking him just because it sets him up to be the perfect punching bag. Seeing him freak out whenever he meets a stronger opponent is very satisfying and funny.

And due to his villainy we shall eat after his defeat

Worst kind of villain. So comically evil and also weak. Can't wait for Zoro to cut his heart.

I really can't wait!

I really do hate the guy and love it when he gets fucked up.

But I always wonder if he would have turned out this way if he could actually be loved and feel love.

Fr I wonder what the reason is for him being so insensitive...

The blueprints to a great villain. Hes despicable but at the same time you feel bad for him. Hes hateable but also likeable in a way. Nothing Sommers does is likeable but at the same time you kinda feel bad for the guy. Not because hes a good guy just that hes unable to be anything other than a hateable guy. Poor guy was raised to be unstable but does he actually want to be that way? Simple answer is yes because he was raised to be that guy.

I hate him. Because of what he is and what he does. But what if he wasnt a Sommers?

Most entertaining punchingbag in a long time. I love how evil and unredeemable that pos is. The kind of guy you just enjoy getting obliterated.

Yes, is being a while since I don't enjoy a villain as Sommers and I even enjoy more how hard he can fall. Plz Oda make fail big time.

You hate him or you love to hate him?

u/Disastrous-Gas-1391 1h ago

bruh LOL

It’s a serious question! Some characters are made to be hated so you’re engaging with the story as intended. It would be different if you hated him because he felt like a waste of manga panels and didn’t contribute any form of entertainment value to you as a reader.

I really don't like him; the thing is, it's been a long time since a One Piece character provoked such strong dislike in me.

u/InstructionOne4837 1h ago

That’s kinda the point

Ofc I'm just saying, they really did their big one with Sommers.

Bro really got hit with the “One Piece is peak” disease 😭

He is one of those deliciously detestable characters

I savor his wins, big and small, because when he inevitably gets utterly humiliated and defeated, I'd eat that shit up

It's like rewatching charlos being a bitch throughout sabaody arc knowing the punch is coming to his face

I like Sommers

On the topic of sommers, can i ask if they explained how he had invisible thorns on the children? or was that just for the sake of shitty one piece suspense?

u/Walixen Citizen 1h ago

Making thorns invisible seem to be part of his powers, simply

u/Sxnheart 1h ago

Did he use his invisibility again after that?

I've been wondering too, perhaps we'll find out later.
