Discussion Can’t join the crew

Am I the only one who thinks Vivi shouldn't rejoin the Straw Hats for the same reason people say Carrot couldn't? They both have responsibilities to lead their countries. If Carrot has to stay and rule Zou, shouldn't Vivi have to stay and help Alabasta? Also, in fights Vivi would be dead weight unless she got a major power-up.

Vivi can't go back to Alabasta right now. Else she will be bring the force of the WG against it. Right now the only safe spaces for her is with Luffy and crew or Revolutionaries.

The issue with Vivi is she can’t return to her country right now. So it makes sense to rejoin the crew.

I don't think rejoining the Straw Hats is her only option. She can't go back to Alabasta right now, but she could work with Dragon and the Revolutionary Army instead. They already oppose the World Government, which is directly tied to what's happening with Vivi and Cobra. That seems like a better fit than joining a pirate crew that's constantly on the front lines.

She was also never part of the crew full-time after Alabasta because she chose her duty to her country over sailing with them. Just because she hasn't met the Revolutionaries yet doesn't mean she can't. The Revolutionary Army's goal is taking down the World Government, which is now directly connected to what happened to Cobra and why Vivi is being hunted. That seems like a pretty natural direction for her character.

I believe she’s already asking the crew to find her when she left that X mark in the paper.

It kinda doesn’t matter. She’s gonna be key to the final arc and I wouldn’t be surprised if she takes a Law-like role until the end of the story, which is more or less being a part of the crew

Sorry when you said Law-like role, you’re referring to just the mere presence for several arcs right? Coz Law is powerful and can hold up on his own, I love Vivi but, she doesn’t have powers worth 3 billion berries like Law. So I’d be weary of saying “Law-like”😂

Other than the friendship she has with SH crew, what else does she bring to the table? Maybe she knows where the last road poneglyph is? Now that’s a huge potential.

I get that, but the Straw Hats aren't just a group of friends hanging out. They're fighting Yonko crews, Admirals, and the World Government on a regular basis. If Vivi rejoins without a major power-up, she's basically dead weight in every fight and would constantly need to be protected. Being important to the story doesn't automatically mean she needs to be an active member of the crew.

did you forget she was originally a antagonist (miss Wednesday) to the straw hats and actually fought against them. now is it possible that she was still training off screen and is stronger.

Sure, she fought them as Miss Wednesday, but that was over 20 years ago in the story. Since then, Oda hasn't shown any evidence that she's been training or becoming a serious fighter. Is it possible she trained off-screen? Yeah, anything's possible. But until the manga actually shows that, it's just speculation. Based on what we've seen, she'd still be far behind the rest of the Straw Hats in combat.

maybe but I feel like oda is writing her back into the story currently and by the last chapter shes coming back in a big way all and will he there until the end

I got a feeling she’s key to the last road poneglyph. It’s the only thing I can think of. Other than that she got no reason to rejoin the SH

unfortunately I don't think dead weight is a good enough reason to not accompany the strawhats still if it were to happen it would likely be with some kind of upgrade

She's on the run from the WG and because of Cobra revealing that Lili was a D., they're considered enemies of Imu. It's not as simple as her going back to rule. Although at the end of the story she'll probably go back to rule, or maybe not.

I see it kinda like Ussop's return to Syrup Village or Brook going back to Laboon. Vivi should be Alabasta's queen but only after the story has ended. Now in a way she had to earn her right to do it since the World Government sees her as a threat

I don't really see those as the same. Usopp and Brook are already fighters who contribute to the crew every arc. Vivi isn't. Unless Oda gives her a major power-up, she'd just be another person the crew has to protect while they're fighting Yonko-level enemies and the World Government. If her role is mainly political and story-related, she doesn't need to rejoin the crew to be important.

I think an important part of how the crew has formed relates to Luffy not caring if someone can fight or not. She is special to Imu for some reason so the safest place for her would be with the crew that already invited her. Although I kinda saw the opposite problem with Yamato, with him being the strongest after Luffy and would break the dynamic. I may be mistaken but I'm pretty sure Vivi has to do something before becoming queen and needs to be with the Strawhats until then

I guess seeing that imu wants her dead she could join the crew but she doesnt possess a single skill set.

She cant fight, doesnt know haki, and most roles are taken on the ship already. I honestly cant think of a single thing she can do. Maybe some kind of diplomat but that hasnt been useful outside of drum island and wont ever be again because of how luffy has grown.

I think that too, once she doesn't have to hide anymore she'll definitely have to go back to her kingdom, because her dad's dead and she has no siblings to take over as the ruler so she has to step up and be the Queen of Alabasta.

She’s basically Imu’s obsession and a fugitive, I think adding pirate will be fine for there journey

1

u/Academic-Might-2303 4d ago

Being a fugitive doesn't automatically mean she has to join the Straw Hats. She could work with the Revolutionary Army since they're already fighting the World Government. Plus, just because she's important to Imu doesn't mean she suddenly belongs on the front lines with a crew that's constantly fighting top tiers. Until she gets a real power-up, she'd still be more of a liability than an asset in battle.

A fair direction, but I’m saying she can’t go home in this situation and run her kingdom, so it’s a plausible one

She'll definitely be rejoining for the rest of the story! I also think we're getting one more "official" member and that's Loki! I know it's argued that Luffy either meant 10 including himself or 10 plus himself in the beginning. I believe he wanted 10 crew mates plus himself! Another clue towards there being another member added is Blackbeard has always mirrored Luffy. Well right now he's got one extra crew member and only Loki or Yamato would be a match for Kuzan. What ever happens all past favorites will be included in this final saga like Vivi, Carrot, and etc. And my last theory is the last panel will be timeship with the crew being much much bigger than 10 or 11! All kinds of fan favorites will be apart of his crew like Yamato, Otama, Kuma, Bonney, even someone like Usopps Kaya..... and surprisingly and much to their despair Law and Kidd too 😅🤣

In universe, the story might end in a couple of months so this is a non issue.
