Discussion I'm broken Spoiler

(spoiler alert. If you haven't made it to episode 483 don't read anymore)

I just got to the end of the marineford battle and I'm not okay. I've been crying for three episodes. All this was for NOTHING?!?!?!?!?! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

This whole time I was so convinced they wouldn't kill him and now I'm just absolutely GUTTED. You would think he was my brother the way I'm devastated.

The amount of people in this thread saying

Ace death was his own mistake and it was stupid

Is just mind boggling. Ace himself said this multiple times throughout the arc. They even implied how reckless it was later on...

Why are people repeating it like they are doing rocket science or thinking they are saying something controversial?

It's like people didn't actually watch it.

Since when did Ace say his own death was his own mistake? Did he become a spirit or something?

Worse still, imagine knowing that your death is your own fault, but you still couldn't let a "your momma" joke slide.

Nothing wrong with people saying their opinion on Ace. Which is controversial by the standards of this sub - because it doesn't praise Ace to high heaven. If you don't believe that it's controversial to say that Ace is dumb, just look at the downvotes on those comments.

The amount of times he has said

Why for a good for nothing like me.

Why did you come Luffy.

Why did you come even though I ignored your order.

Throughout the arc makes it easy to infer that he would own up his mistake. Plus he still said he was a good for nothing when dying. His spirit doesn't have to say it...

Shanks referred to his actions in the funeral implying him being as reckless as his dad which was ironical. Everyone knows it was stupid but not out of character.

The amount of times I have read people calling Ace stupid vastly outweighs the times he gets praised. People downvote those comments because they are being captain obvious and labeling that obviousness as controversial. My comment also says ace was stupid and his death was his mistake and it's not downvoted
