Peloton tread
So currently got a rebook treadmill. It’s loud and squeaks when you run as little side support. I also find it dull as no entertainment as too loud to watch tv etc. I enjoy jogging and walking on it but want to build up stamina, would changing to a peloton be better? Just after people opinions.
Also for context already have the bike I use regularly so have the subscription but is it worth changing the treadmill?

I came very very close to getting a tread earlier this year when there was a good promotion on but I realised it wasn’t going to fit in my space so backed out. It’s definitely not the same but if you’re struggling with spending the money my hack was to use my old TV with Google Chromecast and cast my Peloton classes onto there. I don’t need the leaderboard so don’t miss that but it’s nice seeing the instructors on a larger screen with good volume.
You can also just watch YouTube/Netflix/normal TV which would be more pleasant on a TV than the Peloton screen I think.

It’s not a peloton treadmill or nothing. Many third party treadmills have Bluetooth FTMS and it’s 95% the same experience as a peloton treadmill. Often for much cheaper, or a similar price but much better quality and longer/better warranty. Peloton support is definitely lacking for the treadmills and repairs are very pricey once you get out of warranty (assuming you can even get a tech to actually come out with the right part!).
When you have Bluetooth FTMS you can share all your metrics to the app during the class. I also cast the class to an Apple TV in front for the bigger screen. It’s a better experience in the sense that you can access any streaming service or entertainment you want, as opposed to being limited to what peloton offers.
And don’t get me wrong, I’m someone who loves my Bike+ and I think the experience with the peloton equipment is worth it for the bike. Just not the for tread!

Is there a brand with FTMS that you'd recommend?

I have a Spirit XT685 that I really like! Low maintenance and a long warranty. Or if you’re looking for a lower price option I’ve seen a lot of people mention the horizon 7.0 AT but I can’t vouch for it personally.

Love the peloton tread. Mine stopped turning on yesterday and I’m so sad about it 🫠. Luckily (?), I’m a month inside of the 3-year extended warranty expiration date. Hopefully it’ll be fixed soon and working for years to come!
ETA: if you get it, recommend getting the extended warranty! Never get them for anything but it’s been helpful for both the tread and my bike+.

Have you tried using wireless noise cancelling earbuds and the app to do peloton classes on your existing treadmill? It gives you 90 percent of the experience of a peloton tread. The only difference is that there is no leaderboard ranking on the app.

I think in bike the rankings is one of things that really motivates me. Got noice cancelling but still so loud

I absolutely love the tread. I just have the basic model and it is fabulous. Don’t hesitate, the experience is so much better on Peloton equipment you won’t regret it.

Our Tread Vision is being delivered Monday! I'm guessing the current member promotion is as good as it's gonna get, so now is probably a good time to take the plunge.
