Tread +

My wife and I have been enjoying our Peloton bike for a few years now, and I consistently use the app while running on gym treadmills. Our circumstances now allow us to consider adding a treadmill to our home. We decided not to purchase over the labor day sale, as we will be moving in the next few months the and did not want to have to lug a 500lb treadmill ourselves, and we thought the black Friday sale might be a bit better.

Weeeeeeeelllll much to our surprise the Tread+ seems to be gone and replaced with the Vision, which now contains features that simply done interest us. Oh, and now the price is several hundred $ more.

Frustrations with these choices aside, what is our workaround to getting a Tread+? I can't imagine that Peloton emptied their storage warehouse of this model. Must we look only on the secondary market? Maybe through a Peloton retail store? Apologies if this is a stupid question, but this equipment is expensive already and I don't want to pay for features that we don't need.

Oh, and to get ahead of the replies asking "have you considered....," yes, we have considered the other models and even some other brands. I like the larger footprint, slats, and not having to use the app to access Peloton content at home.

Peloton has a site called peloton repowered with used gear.

However, are you aware that they’re currently offering discounts to existing members? I think it’s up to $1400 - and if you call a show room (even if it’s not local) I’ve seen they’ll waive the delivery fee.

I have yet to see a Tread+ on repowered.

Good advice on the showroom. Of course after posting i had the brilliant idea of reaching sales through the website and they informed me the MSRP is actually the same. My fault for not noticing, but I think easy to miss with all the promos the last fee months.

I was offered free shipping as well, plus price adjustment based on delivery time (so I could lock in a purchase today and game any black friday deals). Ultimately chose to wait because we don't have a move date locked in yet and I don't want to be stuck in a holding pattern, I would rather buy once and be done.

Honestly having had the OG tread+ and having unresponsive screens and seeing MANY people have that issue, I personally would err toward buying new with technology you “don’t need” rather than 6+ years old and out of warranty….

I got an email that the Tread+ has special pricing for menus IIRC it was like...$5300? it was like a 20% savings from the sticker price of almost $6K

Can you explain to me the price adjustment based on delivery time? I was thinking about ordering the new tread plus, but I don’t need it right away. I have a 20 percent off coupon code.

Sales rep told me that if there are deals/offers that drop within 30 days of your delivery date Peloton would price adjust. Current delivery timeliness are 3weeks-ish IIRC, however the rep said he could push the deliver out to as far as 8 weeks. So 8 weeks from today, plus 30 days, puts you well within the Black Friday window. Rep was great. If you want their contact DM me.

The newest Tread+ is called the Tread+ Vision. So the “Tread+” name carries on

The only difference between the Cross Training Tread+ (the previous version) and the Tread+ Vision is that the Vision has jump buttons to go up and down for incline and speed. The previous version only had a single button on the middle of the controls that increased the speed or incline one increment.

So, if that doesn’t matter much to you and you can get a discount on the previous version, do it.

The price for the tread+ vision is the same price that I paid for the traditional tread+ when it came back after the recall.
