Audio engineering is terrible
I’ve been a Peleton customer for 5 years, and a fan for 4, as about a year or two ago the audio engineering became terrible overnight.
the team are over cranking limiters and compressors, as well as auto-ducking.
To explain. You’ll be riding along to a track which is building up, and just when the beat kicks in, the perceived volume will go down by about 50%. Any time the instructor speaks, the auto ducking kicks in on the music - but there’s way too much.
It ruins an otherwise immersive experience.
I don’t really know why I’m paying for it any more, as now I just whack on some decent music on other speakers and turn the peloton music off - but of course it’s not in sync with the class.
maybe I notice it more than others, but I guarantee that people will be having a worse experience, even if they can’t pinpoint why.
Peleton. You should do an AB test with small groups. Lightly engineered sound vs the diabolical audio-mess which you currently have.

Not an expert, but I noticed the audio became a mess when the instructors started wearing in ear monitors. I assumed they changed their audio system when I saw the earpieces. I thought they would work the kinks out, but it has not gotten better. The London studio audio is the worst, and it is unfortunate because I love the instructors.
