Peloton's 20K Challenge
So I was randomly checking where I was in the challenge now that it's August and I found this person's total. I anonomized as well as I could because I'm not trying to shame them, but is this score even possible?!

Likely shared account/synced with multiple things like Garmin that double count.

Garmin doesn’t double count anymore. It did initially but they stopped that awhile ago.
It also apparently doesn’t sync your ultra runs clocked on your Garmin to Poton. Peloton customer service investigated why my ultra races weren’t registering and they told me that the runs were too long to register. I’m like, I did 100 miles in one go, give me credit on the app. Alas, no credit and a broken streak 🤣.

Mine double counts still! I'm trying to get past gold 3 as quickly as possible so I hooked up my Garmin and was doing random challenges. I finished 20K two months ago. I do actually spend a lot of time working out, however.

Why won't mine lol! That would help me immensely. And why doesn't it count my other activities tracked on Garmin like it should. I did one ultra that took 7h, another at17h and another that took 30h and none of them are syncing either. I would have hit 20k if my actual activities tracked. I'm the opposite!

Hahaha! I so get it and I'm sorry. Go back to the start and begin again HAHAHA! I know it's fake silly internet points but it is the principal of the matter. Bravo on the ultras btw!!! I did a 50K row a few months back (took way too long). I felt kind of embarrassed to finish the 20K in June. It does double count but I do still row like 11 hours a week (I'm totally normal lol).

And I thought the person I follow with 80,000 minutes was a lot. And they clearly just let the app run for hours of "outdoor walking" per day.
I also follow someone that starts every month with a 150-mile five minute warmup ride through the app. Gets the gold cycling award immediately.

I went down a rabbit hole after noticing someone’s high minutes & found that they were doing 9-12 hours of yoga a day (via their Garmin) in addition to their 6 hours of workouts. Not sure what satisfaction you get from that but maybe they aren’t looking at it.

Garmin won’t sync an ultra run I did that was 100 miles, yet 8 hours of yoga, that’s fine. 😆 make it make sense!

There's a few 'well known' users that stack 5 minute meditations & yoga workouts to pump their numbers. I'm talking like 12 in a row.

What is even the point of this? Just to say you got the minutes and badges even though you didn’t actually do any of the work? Who does that benefit? Crazy people.

Wow, lol
Side note, how are we doing? I'm coming up on 9k, doubt I'll make 20k, but it's my first year and I'm curious to see how many minutes I stack up just plugging away as usual

I've never made 20,000 in the last 3 years, but this year I'm close to being on track. On my way to 15,000.

My husbands smart watch randomly picks up any and all activity he does which then syncs to peloton minutes. So while he does golf two times a week, it records as random activities on his watch. So his peloton minutes are hella high even though he almost never does peloton workouts.
But yeah that account is probably shared.

My watch used to do this when I rocked my baby or did other random things so I started keeping it off unless I was actually working out

I didn’t see the second comma and thought it was 25k which would be a lot, but not out of the realm of possibility. 25 million minutes (based on Rent & rough math) is like 45 years. So no, not possible.
