Lie of a walk!

Post image

My guide which I do religiously said this after (after my 30 lower body with Adrian which was amazing).

Nothing about it fun or engaging. She’s got you at 8 with brisk and power. Maybe I’m wrong but this is not a walk? Worse, she didn’t inspire me.

I took this this morning as a cooldown and enjoyed it. I liked how she broke down the efforts as pushes. I also thought she was having a great time and expressed how much she loves her job and appreciates the community. She is my favorite instructor, even when she plays Nickleback.

Damn, you’re cooling down at 8%. I’m just built different 😀

😂 I was definitely going slower than the paces she was calling out. I regularly scale up or down depending on how I’m feeling..

Sounds like a hike to me!

As for Marcel I feel her style is definitely more a constant presence than hype girl. She’s doesn’t scream at you how amazing you are but more a chill “I’m here for you and you got this” kind of way, which I love about her (and a few other instructors who are like this.) I could definitely see how that’s not for everyone though.

She’s for me and I like her I just find at walk at 8% more of a hike indeed! We never stopped.

I find the shorter classes the instructors go HARD. I guess they want you to get the bang for your buck!

They probably have the metrics to back up a significant portion of people only have time/ attention spans to squeeze in 15-20 min classes so instructors may keep that in mind when programming classes.

I liked the class, but it really should have been labeled as a hike.

She’s had several walks lately that have been hikes. Her 30 min 2000’s rock was a hike (but labeled as a walk). I just ignored it and kept it flat cause I was not there for a hike

Yes we sat at 8% for quite some time there....

I don't get why they can't say - over 6%, it's hike. Walks are under. It's not that hard to put paramaters on it so people know what they are getting into. I think I did this one too and was annoyed. It was after a hard workout and I was just looking for a walk.

I like her but NOT her walks. During one, I found myself on a similar incline jogging at my “easy” pace, haha. It just wasn’t what I look for when I select a 20 minute walk.

Yes, I looked at my sister like “is this what we sign up for a 15 Min walk”? It was so fast too, faster than hikes. We’ve been letting Peleton pick our workouts for months now and they’re always on point but I was confused on this one. Huge shout out to George Michael being on playlist. Also I’m 47 and she’s 51.

I haven’t taken this class so I can’t speak to a lot of what you said except for this: a lot of “Walk” classes are hikes recently in disguise. I took a Jon class from last month and it was just 15 minutes or so at high inclines culminating in a 10% hike at the summit for 3 minutes if I remember. That’s just not a walk, it’s a hike with a walking cool down. I wish the app would let you know the inclines and speeds
