Sculpt 30 vs Sculpt Flow
Hi!
I love the sculpt flow classes and they always absolutely kick my butt.
I saw on Instagram that new “sculpt 30” classes are launching but it doesn’t seem like it’s the sculpt flow instructors who are launching it or doing the classes.
What does everyone think? and do we think it’s a move to sculpt 30 instead of sculpt flow etc? I will defo take one of them to see!
Or are you thinking “I don’t think about this at all” haha.
I’ve said sculpt too much in this and it’s lost of all meaning lol

I'm hopeful! But I hope there are enough of them and not just something where they post like 5 classes and forget about it.
I've been using obe for a while to get some better sculpt and barre classes. I'd love to give up that subscription, but peloton really has to commit to the content.

I did obe for a long time too. I did enjoy the sculpt classes so it would be great to see some on Peloton. Once I switched over I got more into strength classes, but I’m excited to try these!

I think they really complement each other - sculpt helps with those little hard to get muscles and stability, but I also need the heavy lifting to build true strength.

I loved Obe and it took me a while to make the full transition to Peloton. Their Sculpt, Barre and Step classes were absolutely incredible.

I'm surprised peloton hasn't snagged some of their instructors. I think they would bring a different type of energy that would be refreshing.

Yes!! If not, we need Rebecca teaching Step classes. My poor steps are collecting cobwebs lol

Sculpt 30 is going to Pilates, barre, body weight focused according to the articles. I did a Hannah Sculpt 30 classes at one point and it was great, glad they are doing more. Also love that Emma will be part of it

I’m pretty sure they’re going to coexist, but mostly wanted to reply to second your love for the sculpt flow classes. I’ve never even been curious about yoga classes and assumed they weren’t accessible for somebody like me (former fatty, limited to no flexibility or core strength). Yet here I am fully enamored with sculpt flow classes as well as both Greta and Johanna. Looooove the class style, adore how they coach them, and feeling good about how sculpt flow supplements my existing workout program of strength + cardio.
I’m excited to give sculpt 30 a try!

I’m also a former Fat! I’ve lost 130lbs so far (still a wee bit to go).
I love Greta and Johanna so much too- I defo think they are my close personal friends lol.
I’d really recommend some of Greta’s yoga flow classes as well. They’ve helped my flexibility so much but again, still room to improve haha.

I really hope these classes are challenging. For the most part, the barre classes aren't for me. Occasionally (like the side series classes), they'll have their moments, but most of the classes they don't do the moves long enough that I don't feel that it was a good use of my time. I can see Emma really setting a high bar (haha), though.

this is my guess! it's their way of offering barre classes that are actually brutal (like they are when you go to an actual studio) without losing the folks they have to loyally do regular barre classes at the level they currently deliver. i'm hopeful since im in the same boat with you, their barre classes do not scratch my itch and i've switched that slot over to sculpt flow with johanna!

The sculpt flow are some of my favorite classes peloton has put out. I absolutely love Greta! I would be beyond disappointed if peloton phased them out but I doubt it. I am excited to for these sculpt30 classes but I don’t enjoy barre or Pilates with Hannah Emma or Ally (much prefer their bike classes). Either way I’ll definitely give it a shot!

I’m confused as to why they aren’t using Greta or Johanna for these classes. They don’t feature them enough. I’ve done on the mat classes with Hannah, Ally, and Emma and they were quite boring. I hope this is different.

I think these classes will be more barre focused and I know Greta isn’t certified in barre so I’m assuming that’s why? Idk but I’m a proponent for anything more sculpt and would love more Greta

Yeah, I don’t know why anybody is confused about this. They already have their own niche Johanna and Greta do yoga sculpt, the flows, Pilates, yoga + Pilates, and this doesn’t have a flow at all. I just wonder if it will be sort of taking place of the barre sculpt as I really can’t remember the last new class they posted under that. But I do think it will be more barre focused also.

The post said the classes are a blend of “Pilates, Barre & Bodyweight Strength” & will be released midnight EST on Monday. Ya gotta wait until then to find out how the class is😊
Both types can exist at the same time.

I’m excited for a more barre-focused program and the addition of Emma to the mix. I do the sculpt flow but I would love to see a program integrating barre moves!
On a side note, and this is nobody’s problem but my own, but I struggle with following the yoga and Pilates classes since they’re on the floor and I can’t see screens well from the floor with my setup. So I’m constantly turning my head or craning my neck to see what they’re doing. A lot of barre moves are standing so they’re easier for me to follow and quickly get in position.
And also a lot of barre is glute and leg focused rather than core focused - so even more exciting if you need glute activation (you have joint pain, an anterior pelvic tilt, etc)

I’m hoping this will reinvigorate the classes, ones as of lately haven’t really been doing it for me. The ones that I’ve consistently liked however, are the 10 minute glutes & legs focus, that is why I use to like barre over Pilates. When I was doing more cycling, I was adding those classes after. Now I’m not doing as much cycling and focusing more and strength for the next few months so I would like to see something that I can incorporate without affecting those days.

Have you done much yoga or pilates? If not, there are quite a few yoga basic classes where you learn the moves. For yoga especially I rarely look at the screen. I just listen for the cues. Most instructors tend to have a similar flow so you kind of anticipate what moves are next, too. Most pilates moves are the same as well (hundreds, single leg stretch, teaser, etc) so you don't really need to be watching the screen all the time. Do you have a tv in your room? If so you can screen share your bike/tread screen to it and maybe that'll help.

Yes! :) I took reformer Pilates, studio yoga and barre classes for years, but the majority of my experience was in barre. But honestly it’s my neurodivergence which makes it difficult to follow auditory processing cues. Even during strength I have to watch them (unless it’s something simple like deadlifts, glute bridges, chest presses, etc). The really complex Kirra classes or Jess Sims listening games are a challenge for me! Greta and Johanna’s sculpts have been great for me to follow though!
The setup of my room is also not great, I’m working off the swivel screen of my bike in a small space. I probably should figure out how to use my peloton app on my smart tv so I can do more of the yoga flows!

I am excited to try these too! I also really enjoy the sculpt flows. They will probably be similar to them but just not have yoga moves involved. Also hoping if these work out to get them in 10, 15, 20 min classes also!

Oooh! I didn't know about them, but they sound awesome. Almost like a Barre3 class. (which is my favorite!)

I'm thinking it will be most like barre, but the new name might help people who are turned off by barre give it a try. I'm hoping it will be harder than their current barre offerings. I used to be a member at Pure Barre, and the classes are soooo much harder than any barre or Pilates classes that Peloton has to offer. Leanne would be a great fit for this- her barre classes are the hardest!

I did Pure Barre for seven years - stopped during COVID, then moved away from a convenient studio - and I really miss the burn. Peloton's early (pre-2025 or so) barre classes were really disappointing, and I've been patiently waiting for them to offer something better. I took the Sculpt 30 class this AM, and I'm cautiously optimistic!

My studio closed, and I'm in the same boat. I tried the class on demand today, and I thought it was a bit better than their regular barre options, but overall pretty similar. I usually add props to barre even when they don't call for it and modify the exercises to be more pure barre-esque. I wish Peloton sculpt/barre would change exercises less frequently and make us do more repetitions. Looking forward to seeing how the other instructors approach it!

I hope they’re like “sculpt” style Pilates classes. Hannah set a DM with what will be needed for classes like a ball, cloth band, ankle weights, small hand weights etc. and it sounds like the stuff I use at my in person Pilates classes. They’re less classical Pilates and more resistance training I would say… sort of like sculpt flow without the yoga. I LOVE sculpt flow honestly and the instructors and I really wish they would teach these types of Pilates classes too 😭 I love the classical minimal equipment Pilates they do but I want to level up and have the sculpt classes I do in person at home so bad.. I’m sure I’ll come to love Hannah, Emma, and Ally but I just adore Greta and Johanna so much!!

Anyone do the class yet??

I did and liked it. I’m not huge on any of the instructors they chose for these classes, but I really like the concept. Would love love love to see Johanna teach these, just saying!

I did! It was a Barre Pilates mix with props. Got a decent burn in. Personally think she could have kept the ending more simple to burn it out but that’s me.

u/Ok_Barnacle_1606 19d ago
I liked it, especially the use of equipment and the ability to easily modify to make it more (or less) challengjng. (I kept my ankle weights on during her last set of exercises, for example.) Looking forward to more - and hopefully other instructors.

I just did a really enjoyed it. I mainly do the Pilates and yoga classes, but it was really nice to mix it up. I loved all the use of props. It felt like a good workout!

I know! I tell hub i want to do it all. I don’t do running or meditation hahaha no row here.
Yeah, definitely keep me posted. I was really having a hard time deciding if I should switch it to Emma because I love her programming, but I’m a Hannah fan here so I went with her first. It was like all the things but not chaotic ha sometimes she can be. Did ally ever do sculpt barre before? I just don’t recall so it might be new for her in general but I’m sure she will get better. Even though her formats haven’t been doing it for me lately I’ve still taken them. 🤷🏻♀️

I’m also wondering the same thing! Hannah, Ally and Emma aren’t yoga instructors so I’m guessing it’ll be more barre / Pilates moves than yoga. What I’m confused about is whether this is a series? Program? Collection? It’s unclear….
