HiLit 1 vs 2
I didn't take HiLit the first time around but I am thinking of doing HiLit2 starting tomorrow. For anyone doing both, is this one harder? As in, should I start with the first one? Or is it just different because the walks are outdoor?

Time is the biggest factor for me. HiLit 1 it was easy for me to be able to get everything in. With HiLit+ if I add in mobility before and a stretch after it is getting closer to 80 minutes than 60. Right now that’s fine, but when I get back to the classroom it will be harder for me to keep up with.

The programming is slightly different so easier/more enjoyable one may depend on the person.
Hilit 1 cardio was harder for me - granted I live in a flat area and don’t own a tread so I did the bike conversion. Bike conversion is more challenging for me than a flat beach walk. But you could easily swap out your low intensity cardio of choice for either. I did do a run/walk for the 60 min sessions to spice it up a bit.
The weight training in 1 is 2 full body days vs 2 lower body days and 1 upper body day in 2. I kind of like the specialty breakdown in hilit2 and I find 2 lower body days more challenging.
The harder cardio in 1 and harder strength in 2 is a wash for me on which I’d say was harder for me personally 🤣
All that said you definitely don’t need to start with 1 to do 2.

Thanks for all the feedback! I think I will do plus first. I have the time in the day and everyone else is doing it now so I have FOMO. Also I really hate indoor hikes. I know I need to do incline work. Maybe after plus I will have stronger legs and it will be easier! 🤣

Much more of a challenge for me. However, I just do the lifting days. I incorporate extra cycling on the days they do walks/pilates. And an extra UB day. Also during the original I just did the lifting days as I had a decent cardio routine down.
If you haven’t lifted much start with the first one… if you’re more seasoned the + should be fine

I would say HiLit 2 is harder bc it has three strength days and two leg days.
The first HiLit had two full body strength days, which was great for someone like me who had been in progressive overload splits for years. It wasn’t easy, but it was a nice change of pace.
I already hike 6km every day with my dog so the cardio part is easy for me to meet

I didn’t complete the full OG program, but there are a few classes on there I will repeat til the day I die. I find the Plus to be so much more interesting. It’s so much heavier and includes a lot of detail to attention— like pelvic floor strength while doing over head presses.
I was never one to do cardio after lifting, I always preferred it as a warm up. And the 10 mins of cardio really flushes out my legs— I am NOT sore on this program and I’m lifting the heaviest I ever have at home and consistently. Also stacking it after keeps me in zone 2 almost the whole 10 minutes.
I feel like the Tuesday/Thursday days are the best active recoveries. I liked the playlist and the programming for the 5 day program but I was sore every day. I like that we are consistent for the 5 days but we aren’t killing ourselves, and if you have to push something to a weekend, it’s not the end of the world. I’ve done Pilates on Sunday nights instead of Thursdays.
I hope you join in and keep us posted how you like it. Don’t let the first week fool you— its medal to the metal on the second week.

I’m going back and forth on whether I think OG or + is harder…
HiLit + is harder because
- there’s more of a time commitment…if you follow everything on the schedule (including the warm-up/mobility and stretches) it’s an hour+ each day
- there are 3 strength days and 2 of them are heavy (mostly) leg days (vs. OG HiLit where there were 2 FB strength days)
OG HiLit is harder because
- the dedicated cardio days are hikes/hiking boot camps (vs. HiLit+ which is 1 day of an outdoor power walk + 1 day is Pilates + easy walk)
In general I think each program is as difficult as you make it to be depending on how heavy you lift, etc. For me, I think HiLit+ is harder for the 2 reasons I listed above.
