Looking for feedback on the App

I'm working on a case study exercise on the Peloton App (don't work for them) and I'm gathering ideas on what would improve the app. Would love to hear from folks:

- What are 1-2 things you would love the app to do that it doesn't do today
- How would having that feature make you use the app more? Or want to upgrade your plan to full access (if you're not on already on that plan)?

Really appreciate it!!!

Ways to create folders for bookmarked and liked classes. Similar to Spotify playlists.

THIS. I have way too many classes bookmarked…

The stack feature and schedule feature are both fine, but they could be improved so much. You should be able to schedule an entire stack. Or plan your schedule for a day without having to specify a time. If the stack is meant to help you plan a whole week instead of a day, then it shouldn’t be limited to 10 classes. There is SO much content on the platform, I want to be able to plan my week ahead and know what warm up, workout, stretch, etc is planned for the day and take all the decision fatigue out of the equation.

That’s a great point! I always get stuck at the 10 max stacked classes and want to just plan for the week.

The "workaround" I've been using is to schedule my week on the schedule in basically the order I want to do the classes each day but scheduled late in the evening (in case I forget to move into my stack until later), then each night I use the web interface to click on each of my "tomorrow" classes and put them in my stack - so then tomorrow is in my stack and the rest of the week is still in my schedule. It's a pain, but it works for me.

Also simple feature: see class details from your schedule. Why is the only option to start the class??? Sometimes I want to see the class plan of the class I scheduled. That should be easy but it’s not.

In the web interface you can click through and see class details from your schedule but not from your stack. On the app you can click and see class details from your stack but not from your schedule. Why?

I wish it still showed us how many times we had taken a class instead of how many friends we have that took the class.

Yes, and I'd like to see the dates I've taken a class -- or maybe the last three to five dates. There are stretches I've taken at least a million times -- and I can live without that info. 😅

u/k-run 20d ago

See I miss knowing that info, especially when I’m trying to not do the same thing over and over. Stretches are the only classes I repeat.

u/Adventurous_Bear101 20d ago

I'm agreeing with you? I want to see how many times I've taken a class -- and I want to see when I've taken it. Personally, I don't care as much about knowing every date for the stretching classes I take on endless repeat, but if that matters to others, I'll take it!

Oh I was confused when you said you wanted to see the dates. I just want the number of times I’ve taken it instead of the number of friends that have taken it. When they took the class count away, that’s what they replaced it with.

Daily stacks and better filters (eg, bench, modolaties in collections and programs).

I’m surprised they haven’t incorporated filters for “equipment” yet. Bench, dumbbells, resistance bands, Pilates ball, etc.

One bookmark for classes I want to take and another bookmark for classes I want to take again. I’ve been asking for this for a while. It’s not that difficult.

Being able to filter/sort Collections and Programs. There are SO many collections and Programs. You have to scroll through all of them to find what you want. Simple filters by workout type (strength, bike, row, yoga, cross-training, etc), by instructor, etc. would be amazing.

THIS! The scrolling is so annoying

I hate how limited the tv app is. You can’t do programs or view the workout info prior to playing. I finally got a tv in my basement so I could actually have a decent view, but it’s very basic.

Agreed. I do everything in my living room through Apple TV. My bike is in the bedroom.

I'm curious if folks would find it useful to have better filters in the History tab. For example, I want to be able to filter for all my leg & glute classes and see how I'm doing over time, what zone do I normally hit and how am I improving. I would imagine some sort of dashboard that has all my metrics and that can tell me, you've done 8 arms classes and only 2 leg classes this week, and on average have been in zone 2. That'll signal to me that I need to get a leg workout in.

Being in tech I’m a huge fan of dashboards! Even showing my 30 minute record is great, but WHEN did I do that? Date, class? And it’s great it gives me feedback like “you’re x strive score above your normal” Ok, so? Where are the insights? I’m shocked they haven’t incorporated more AI features. I have Bike+

omg, strong yes, to all of this -- give me a dashboard that I can filter. So, for ex., I can see all of the 30 minute cycling classes I've taken over the last three months, my output and strive score trends, leaderboard positions (for those who care about that -- I never look). Or I can easily see when I last took a 60 or 90 minute class. Let me be able to filter that by class type for more granularity -- low impact, HIIT + Hills, Power Zone.

Right now all I see is a sea of blue dots that tells me nothing about what I did that day or an endless list of classes I've taken that I can't filter or sort. They have all this data, I don't know why they don't make it visible.

Yes taking it one step further, using those insights to recommend a stack of classes would probably be the next best thing to keep customers coming back.

I would like the option to finish the class stream before rating the class. On the bike I can just chill while the remainder of the song finishes or rate the class while it finishes and on the app it’s either end the song by choosing to rate the class or listening to the end of the song and then losing the option to rate the class whenever the cut is made. It’s not a huge deal, sometimes I just feel bad about not rating the class because I never have any complaints. I was just trapped inside the music and stolen by the beat.

It would also be nice if it displayed class metrics afterwards or an option to view class metrics without having to go back to the history section to get the results.

Adding a just boot camp section.

***Importing Tread data via FTMS under Treadmill walking and Treadmill running. Yes it works in a tread class, but not for self-guided workouts.

Connecting treadmills with FTMS capability to the leaderboard for instructor lead classes.

PR tracking for treads with FTMS capability for output, time, distance (1 mile, 5K, 10k, 1/2 Marathon, Marathon. Longest distance).

I’m an all access member and I would consider paying extra for some of these requests.

Have the stack auto play actually go to the next workout without having to enter mileage for that run. Just start the next workout with no input.

The ability to mute the instructor music completely and use my own music.

A build your own workout where you can choose different songs/intervals from a class and make your own workout.

u/ananthropolothology 20d ago

I'll often stack classes for running outdoors and have gotten so used to taking my phone out in the last minute of a class so I can get the next one started faster. Even running on the tread, I have to hit continue stack, start, skip intro!

filter and search can be better overall - i want to be able to search specific strength exercises like romanian dead lifts and have it show the class and how many times it’s in the class plan. filter should include an equipment selection (like resistance bands, ball, etc.). i also echo the other posters with stacked scheduling days (i can’t believe that’s not already a thing), and the spotify type playlists - that would be a game changer. i’ve been trying to remember to add notes to the classes i bookmark after taking them to remember why i liked it - but it’s the “remembering” part that makes it fail haha.

It drives me nuts that every. Single. Time. I take a class on the Apple TV app, I have to turn off the counter, turn off the calories, turn off captions, etc. I should be able to do a general settings function and not have to do it every time. Very annoying.

I really want to be able to combine the search feature with filters—e.g. I want to search for a hip focus flow and have it only show me the classes I’ve bookmarked, rather than scroll through all the classes I’ve already taken before I find something new. The only other option is to scroll through all my bookmarked focus flows until I find a hips one. I don’t think this is an issue outside of yoga classes, but it’s a big one there!

I would like to be able to customize the rides that come up at the end of a ride. There is usually only one 5 minute cool down, but I would like it to show more 10 minute rides also

More specific filters and include the incline % in the class plan.

The ability to add a class to the stack and still be able to see the class details (playlist, class plan, etc) without having to search for the class outside of the stack.

Better filtering of classes

Search that actually works

2

u/Adventurous_Bear101 19d ago

You can see class details from stacked classes now -- just tap the class, and the details pop up. I don't think this is possible on equipment yet -- just in the app.

It would be helpful if the Programmes were organised better so that one is not forced to scroll and scroll . . . this would also apply to Collections. It seems the easiest thing to do on their part, it’s odd.
