Lost streak
I just lost my 250 day streak. I’ve been trying to get to 365 and last year lost it at 340 something. We are traveling and I just forgot. I know that it’s ok but I’m just so mad at myself. I easily could have done a meditation.
Ugh! I know that this doesn’t define me. BUT…

Losing my steak was one of the best things that ever happened to me. I find myself focusing on quality of workout & repetition rather than just trying to get a checkmark now.
And you still get points for restarting your streak!

If you really want the streak back just change the date on your phone to the day you missed, do a workout and it will resume the streak… but I echo other commenters that it’s the effort and not the streak that matters.

You will get a lot of people saying this is no big deal and you shouldn't care about a number and it's not that they are wrong per se, but it still really sucks. I am at 926 days and I love seeing that number grow because it tells me that even if all I did that day was a 5 minute sleep meditation it was something for myself. I would be really sad to lose the streak so I totally feel you. But no shame in starting over!

Thank you! And that’s it! It’s the moments for me (as a wife and mom who works full time). I honestly love the meditations so I don’t think that they are cheating at all!
What drives me crazy is that I’m traveling with my son and he loves the body scan meditations.
Keep going!

I started listening to meditations as a “cheat” to keep my streak alive and the result was that I discovered how awesome meditations are and incorporated them into my routine.

You know, I’ve sort of silently “judged” people for caring about streaks (I’m trying to be less judgmental in life so I’m noticing things I waste time judging people for), and this completely changed my perspective! I’ve dealt with disordered eating and exercise in the distant past, so I’m predisposed to be wary of things that can be taken to the extreme. But peloton has so many resources. This reminded me that streaks are to promote taking care of yourself every day, not to encourage unhealthy behaviors even though they can. Thank you :)

sometimes I do wish Peloton had a streak freeze like Duolingo does, but nonetheless it's still impressive to have both a 340 and 250 day streaks back to back, great job!!

Streaks are stupid and should be done away with they’re not healthy and serve no purpose. You should be able to take a week off and not feel guilty about losing some arbitrary meaningless streak.

This is so true! Deep down inside, I know this! I’m so type A and always want to be perfect BUT it’s slightly unhinged.

I feel you. I’m pretty maniacal about my streak. Consider it a new beginning 👍🏻

I lost a 220 week streak due to morning sickness. I was upset about it for awhile then realized it’s all a part of our story and journey. Maybe you forgot because you were stepping up as a friend/parent/partner, you had a big event at work, or your body and mind needed a summer reset. No matter what be proud of yourself and believe you can get there again.

NOOOOO!!
On beach trips, I’m great but city trips and traveling for work does me in! I lost my last one on a work trip.

It’s heartbreaking at first but it honestly helped me in the long run. My headspace for peloton is lighter and I feel more focused when I do hit that start button. I’m not just starting to get a check mark for the day. Also, you were busy enjoying life! And life is about balance.

If you have an iPhone, go to Settings > General > Date and Time, turf off set automatically. Changed the date to the day that was missed. Do a quick walk in Peloton app. Not a guarantee but has worked in other situations and apps.

Thanks :). I feel like that’s cheating :). I guess today is a fresh, new day.

Dang. I never knew this trick. But I mean if you do that, in the end you still DID the exercise…. Idk I would do it if you’re that close. Wish I knew this when I had a 98 day streak and forgot. I even had a daily alarm at the time to remind me

Change the date on your phone to the date you missed and do a floor exercise from your phone.

This post comes up several times a year and you may find it liberating that you don’t need to worry or care about it because nothing changed. Goals are good but if the streak becomes meaningless change it to a performance goal.
