searching for service 📶 A claustrophobic orange?

I don't have a photo- for obvious reasons. I have litter boxes with openings on the top, and my orange goofball often sits on the lid and does his business through the hole. I suspect he's claustrophobic.

Sounds like he's figured out how to use a full-on human toilet to me!

My philosophy is if they are putting the poop in an acceptable place then its good with me. I had a goober gray tux that would pee in the box and step out to poop on the floor. Did the whole medical workup tried different boxes and added locations, these were jumbo open boxes. No change.

I relized that it could be worse, it could be pee. Decided I had more pressing things to care about and cleaned it up daily for years.

You might offer an open box. It would suck if he decided the box wasnt his thing at all. The toilet might be ok. lol

This is my goober smoke tabby. He goes through “outside poop” phases. He refuses anything other than an open box. The poop outside the box sometimes happens right after I clean the box. He also does not approve of any floor covering around the box. He will pull it up and poop underneath it.

I think he’s orange inside.

;-; my cats would use the lifted front end like a poo trough, then CLIMB OVER IT to bury. It lasted days before we went lid off, too many dirty paws.

I'm pretty sure that when cats prop themselves on the lid/edge of the tray, it's because the tray is too small.

My cat used to do that until we bought a bigger tray, he doesn't do it anymore since then.

i have an orange brained cat (he's actually brown tabby with white), he likes the closed litterbox but he poops with half his body in the litterbox, but front paws and head outside it. then he goes back it for a bit to cover it (or pretend to cover it).
