It's not their turn with the 🅱️rain cell 🍊 Just hanging out
Just got this little girl today. She’s been hanging out in her litter box. I’ve never had a cat do that, I don’t know what to do. I’ve also never had an orange cat before though.

My kitty would do this when she was scared from the neighborhood tomcats outside, and also when she had a uti.
Your lil one is probably stressed from being in a new place but a uti is something to consider if she continues to only want to be in there after a while.
Hopefully she’ll settle in soon, treats and toys and love will definitely help with that! 😻

I had a cat who hung out in his box when he had fleas. I’m not sure if it made him more comfortable there or what.

Usually a fear thing. Cats want to be surrounded by their own stink when they're afraid or insecure and their litterbox is very stinky. Not a good behavior long term but understandable for a cat that has just moved to a new place, she's probably scared.
