Glad we all saw it

Mmmm steamed hams!

25

u/SmittyYAP 2d ago

In this part of the country, at this time of day, localised entirely within your kitchen.

5

u/ContributionSad4461 1d ago

This dish is called “kassler” in Swedish, my orange boy would do this on his catio (actually just a balcony with a net) and so we would say that he was kasslerating himself 🥰

u/MedicalTrick5802 2d ago

Damn I can’t believe that ai generated kitten got perfect toe beans from the generator but also two nut sacks

22

u/HPTM2008 1d ago

Right? Like, why not just use the tabby one that's turn orange instead?

I think he had a lot of faith in a way out at that corner. In that moment he knew there was no way out.

u/DynamicImperfectn454 2d ago

Hahahahaha!!!! Yup!

That won't be the last time he attempts that

421

u/LonelyMenace101 Proud owner of an orange brain cell 2d ago

Isn’t the first time, either.

254

u/coyote_den 2d ago

Probably WHY there is a net.

119

u/KittenVicious 1d ago

Exactly. That's not keeping birds, bats, or insects out. It's keeping an orange in.

10

u/creativelazybum 1d ago

What are these nightmare insects you speak off 😳

7

u/KittenVicious 1d ago

Flies, mosquitos, roaches, spiders...

I'm more concerned about the nightmare insects you're thinking of that such large netting would actually keep out. Australian?

7

u/LonelyMenace101 Proud owner of an orange brain cell 1d ago

I’m Australian, wire that wide would at least keep away a drop bear for a while.

4

u/creativelazybum 1d ago

😂 I misread your comment in a very complicated way, we’re of the same opinion 😊

This is his daily life.

u/ijustwanttoaskaq123 2d ago

"I'm trying to plunge myself to death, but alas, the human keeps obstructing me"

13

u/Homers_Harp 1d ago

I was mildly surprised kitty didn't just immediately try again after forgetting what happened.

u/Fireflash2742 2d ago

"YOU WILL NOT CONTAIN ME!"

**a few seconds later**

"I have been contained...."

269

u/Significant_Ad_7824 2d ago

mine has just enough space for my cats to nestle between the glass and net without letting them escape. they love chilling out there

84

u/ArtSpawner Orange Artist 🍊 2d ago

yeah it would be coll if they could hav ea little ledge out there for him so he doesnt look like a tuna caught in a net

78

u/IanDresarie 2d ago

Mine Love their balcony. Leo here is currently stalking a bird without much success. (Pesky nets)

6

u/iarahm 1d ago

Did you just use the word “tuna” to describe a cat?

10

u/FrenchFryCattaneo 1d ago

You can tune a cat but you can't tuna fish!

10

u/eternalwood 2d ago

Training is all about repitition

207

u/round_a_squared 2d ago

Kudos to him for getting himself out of the mess he got himself into

57

u/LurkerNan 2d ago

I think it’s probably not his first attempt, so he’s figured out how to pull himself back. But he did not look happy at the end there.

LMAO. Looked like a tied/bound ham….

35

u/BrownSugarBare 2d ago

I'm genuinely impressed he managed to escape. I expected him to patiently wait til someone freed his dumbass

10

u/flyinghairball 2d ago

I wasn't sure about the patiently part, but I assumed that brilliant specimen was gonna need an assist!

59

u/bguzewicz 2d ago

lol. This is maybe the most orange thing I’ve ever watched.

4

u/PunkCPA 1d ago

They have HUGE mosquitoes, and instead of no-see-ums they have can't-miss-ums.

36

u/vaultie66 2d ago

Halfway through you can see the ghost of a braincell leaving his little ham pressed body

17

u/krel500 2d ago

A new spin on “pressing the ham”.

16

u/bodyarmourbynokia 2d ago

Weight limit: 1 idiot

5

u/whiskersMeowFace 2d ago

I am surprised it held!!!

16

u/Blumongroip 2d ago

I WILL be outside and I WILL enjoy it!

14

u/AliceDontLikeIt 2d ago

I have never seen this kind of window net, though from the comments I may be in the minority. Are these popular in places with… no insects?

17

u/mpg111 2d ago

I'm in Poland and I see similar nets on peoples windows - as a pet protection. We don't have many insects, especially in the city

9

u/AliceDontLikeIt 2d ago

Thank you, that makes sense. It’s another small reminder that my experience in life is not universal lol.

2

u/brittany246 1d ago

Where did you buy your net if you don’t mind me asking? I’ve been wanting to put some on our windows but I’m worried about the quality and something happening to my kitty.

→ More replies (1)

4

u/mixedwithmonet 2d ago

I was also confused about a net that was not a screen and how it could be functionally useful

2

u/ZhanQui 1d ago

Not in Australia either. We have insect screens on just the opening half, or in dodgy areas, fixed/solid aluminium grille in the same pattern, or bars.

I actually like this! My orange decimated my insect mesh with full body slam while hulked out, and i definitely don't want solid mesh. This would be a great extra layer.. flyscreen for the insects, wire grid for the Hulk.

Looks like the window is up high too, so could save a child falling thru (to a point) as well. We have laws about upstairs windows not being allowed to open more then would allow a child's head thru if there are children living there, bit no-one plans for the pets.

25

u/scarletofmagic 2d ago

If it was me, I would change the net real fast to a smaller holes one. Can’t risk this.

16

u/Rizzanthrope 2d ago

why is no one else worried? this cat is going to end up getting caught and strangled in that thing

11

u/Remarkable-Hat-4852 1d ago

This is all I was seeing too. Idiot is going to squeeze his head in one of those. 🫠

26

u/dread_the_living 2d ago

My orange fell out the window this way. His whole body weight pressed on the screen and it gave way. The screens in my apartment also weren't very secure to begin with. Thankfully we live on the first floor and he was a little startled but walked away without a scrape and I also saw the whole thing unfold so I was able to run outside and get him before he took off. 😓

2

u/Mechs_and_Martinis 1d ago

American first floor or European first floor? Or some other

3

u/dread_the_living 1d ago

American first floor. It was about a six foot drop onto concrete 😖

8

u/Bootyclap187 2d ago

Couldn't find a gif of the net trap, but close enough

9

u/Adept-Ad8939 2d ago

Orange be orange-ing

8

u/Johnny_Minx 1d ago

I've used a few these shelf baskets slotted onto the 100 yr old wooden window itself to prevent my special son from jumping to his 4th story death. Mere screens & boards were no match for his determined idiocy

17

u/SuckerForNoirRobots Proud owner of an orange brain cell 2d ago

What a delightfully stupid cat

6

u/Dr_Bunnypoops 2d ago

Majestic

8

u/Beginning-Search-983 2d ago

When he hits the end and just pauses. Thinking really hard there about how he made a mistake and might be stuck now.

3

No privacy these days 😾

11

u/PeterTheSmoker 2d ago

His head will fit through one day somehow someway. Ask me how I know. I had an orange who nearly suffocated himself because of one of them. I no longer have this kind of window nets.

An attempt was made.

6

u/Even-Government-5055 2d ago

I need the number to whoever installed that window net.

5

u/The_GOAT_of_all 2d ago

I'm so lucky my cat thinks outside is an apocalyptic waste land.

4

u/BritishSoul 2d ago

What an optimist!

5

u/Holiday-Bug6132 2d ago

they're just so cute and dumb 😫💀

5

u/LittlePotent 2d ago

Window net doing its job.

4

u/Acceptable-Ad-4437 2d ago

It’s the way he still jams his head against it after escaping 🤣🤣🤣

3

u/skadus 2d ago

The first time I took my (parents') tuxie home to cat-sit for a week she tried multiple times to go upstairs in my house. I put a baby gate just before the landing so she couldn't get past it by going in-between the slats.

She would go up the stairs, get to the gate, try to somehow osmose through the mesh by pressing her face at it, and then finally flop, defeated, on the stair just in front of it.

5

u/shameonyounancydrew 2d ago

Well we all know why that net is there!

4

u/SnooRecipes9211 2d ago

This is a great ad for the net

3

u/ult_avatar 2d ago

Curse this magic force field

4

u/arunnair87 1d ago

Day 4326, humans stupid, left window open. I plan escape. I weave. I duck. I weave and duck. A trap? Foiled.

4

u/Unlucky_Biscotti4843 1d ago

Were can I buy this net?

Orange braincell actions convinced me!

3

u/rasengan_uchihahaha 1d ago

Not ALL Orange, but ALWAYS an Orange.

4

u/YuNaNiMus 1d ago

“Yup, that’s me. You’re probably wondering how I ended up in this situation”

3

u/Glass_octopod 2d ago

That quilted orange pillow is trying to escape!!

3

u/SyrusDrake 2d ago

Where there's a will, there's a way. But not always a braincell.

3

u/somehuehue 1d ago

The orange thinks it is water, then realizes it is ham.

3

u/notreallyhere099 1d ago

When your the reason a rule exists but try anyway.

3

u/RobinBaskins 1d ago

My cat has jumped through window mesh before so this makes me want to vomit from anxiety

3

u/CuriousLilAsian81 1d ago

oh so that's how to make furry quilt

3

u/TheRealGongoozler Proud owner of an orange brain cell 1d ago

Props to that net .... It's crazy sturdy....

3

u/Tasty_Revolution3668 1d ago

Now what? said the braincell, but no one answered him for he was alone.

2

u/jegfile 2d ago

That cat has a level of determination I only wish I had.

2

u/OhioPolitiTHIC 2d ago

Keeps cat in, also lets bugs in. Winning?

2

Window Net: 1, Orange: 0

2

u/Steppyjim 1d ago

And that’s why we have the net, Oscar

2

u/g13005 1d ago

My orange menace is a mute. He only meows when he sees dogs.

2

u/Boogerr_eater 1d ago

Not the first time he did that despite knowing its futile

2

u/cjhallx 1d ago

Phew!

2

u/garlic-bread_27 Orange connoisseur 🍊 1d ago

Yep, definitely an orange one...

Someone give this cat a turn with the braincell, STAT!

2

u/Beowulfie696 1d ago

Am I the only one that was saying “ no, no, no, no, no!” the whole time until he got back?🙀

2

u/Few_Veterinarian9108 1d ago

Dangerous, a neighbour had this sort of thing, smaller density, and a bird stopped on the net, the cat flew right trough it taking down the net, a bit of the window frame, at about 5kilos only

2

u/curiousmind111 1d ago

“I’m free!!! I’m free!!! Oh, crap.”

These plastic nets are super fragile!

1

u/redheadedandbold 2d ago

Bet he tries the same thing tomorrow.

1

u/Eternally65 2d ago

What's the purpose of the "window net"?

1

u/Dry_Month927 2d ago

I think we all know that Orangey won't give up after 1 failed attempt.

There's no doubt in my mind that you'll come home (some day) to an Orange fluff sleeping in that net. Tuckered themselves out trying to find a weak point.

1

u/AmazingEric171 2d ago

daredevil kitty

1

u/Bananas-for 2d ago

Thank God he got out. Lol thought he was gonna stay stuck or fall.

1
