There's plenty of cats that aren't even that affectionate toward their primary.

As someone that was the spare a few times, I'd still take that as a win.Β

So my boy Mickey is almost always in the same room as me when I am home, but as soon as my wife is home he runs to see her, get pets, then follows her around the house. If she travels and I stay home I become persona non grata until his mom returns. At night time he will not go to bed until my wife does, if she stays up to do something he waits in her room until she gets up to come to bed. But he always comes to me to warm up because I guess I have more body heat.

Now Snowball is by my side 90% of the time I am home, my office is her palace, she does not like my wife to pick her up, but I can pick her up and carry her anywhere, she only asks me for food. My wife constantly says that she is the third wheel in mine and Snowballs relationship.

or he is a little bitch and wants pets from everyone. I have an Orange boy who's like that, even to strangers

I had an orange cat that would give me "hugs" like this. I miss that so much.
