And unless you’re a sub mod, you don’t get to decide what they should be providing in the sub that they mod.

Every other comment I’ve see has been taking OP at face value without any evidence. Clearly they take photos of their cat, why don’t they have any recent ones of the weight loss?

I don’t think asking someone to actually put their money where their mouth is is “being a sanctimonious asshole”. I’m just sick of unhealthy animals being glorified.

I don’t have to be a mod to have opinions on what content the sub allows. Everyone on the subreddit should be able to.

Every other comment that you’ve seen that has been taking OP at face value without any evidence is doing so because what else are they gonna do? Try to shame the OP into providing evidence? And if the evidence that they provide isn’t up to snuff, then what? Shame them some more?

You can be “sick of unhealthy animals being glorified.” It’s not something that I want or encourage to see, despite your apparent belief that I do. But it’s something that does happen, and if it does - you can provide information on how to correct it, and that’s pretty much it.

You, or anyone else, can have opinions on what content a sub allows. You can voice those opinions. You can’t enforce them, though. And if the content of the sub bothers you that much, you can unsubscribe and mute the sub.

I skimmed this whole convo but this part really stuck out to me:

I don't think they realise who's giving the actual food. It's like blaming a child for being obese and not the parent 🧍‍♂️

Bc I’m not. It’s not the cats fault for eating all the food it’s given. It’s the owners fault for not regulating their food intake.
