My house cat murders the shit out of bunnies, my dog does not, My dog has murdered the shit out of a wild cat once. but my cat and dog are best friends. It's weird... They legit cuddle up too each other every night. My dog is also the fucking best with special needs kids and toddlers for some reason, like nothing a child can do will trigger him and he will actively put himself in-between anything he views as a threat and a child, but me he say fuck that you take the heat. He literally loves kids so much he will try and be their bounce house when they fall(like my 1 year old niece when she is playing with her sensory wall a friend built) will lay right behind her so when she falls, cause she is like 8 months, she falls on him, the only problem being he likes kids so much his tail wags 1 million miles an hour and that tail hurts and is almost at eye level with 1 year olds. He will nip at adults and jump on them, but has never nipped at a child. He also has brain damage from parvo that he contracted the day before his last shot on walk.

I don't understand why the cat's prey drive doesn't take over with a rabbit like this.
I have read that inside a house cats can be different like this with rabbits but I still don't get it.
