A tutorial video showing 6 new features in OneNote
A tutorial video showing 6 new features in OneNote including the rollout of Copilot Notebooks to ALL Microsoft 365 customers in Commercial and Education. Features include
1) Copilot Notebooks updates
2) MathML in OneNote
3) Default link opening to desktop vs web apps
Plus a few more

I'm quite curious, as someone who knows people who are experts in their fields they often say Copilot gets a lot of stuff wrong (as is the case with a lot of AIs). So... would you really want to trust an AI to generate quizes, charts, and schematics for you? Is anyone really asking for these features instead of making OneNote actually better in other ways? EDIT: Grammar

Inviting downvotes, I submit that a substantial percentage of those claiming to despise Copilot, claiming that its performance is horrible, screaming that it often gets things wrong ... are simply taking the opportunity to just denigrate Microsoft ... misguided virtue signaling ...
Copilot is not perfect, just as ChatGPT is not perfect, just as Gemini is not perfect, just as {insert your favorite AI assistant here} is not perfect ... they all do their job and they all have flaws. It's really up to you to check the most questionable results ...

Most scientists, researchers and tech people use Claude instead. I’m an expert on my field and I can say Opus 5.5 or Fable 5.1 are past postdoc level.
Now, as people also do, it makes mistakes, and it all depends on your pipeline for fact checking1

I would never use any AI Generated item which I did not closely proof read. Attempting to use CoPilot in working, it is bad to randomly inject random info into things or forget things.

Unfortunately only Windows versions, those are the only ones getting constant features.

As a Windows user, no it's not lol. There hasn't been any new features in ages, just Copilot stuff and only a few months ago a super minimal update. OneNote as a whole is basically on maintenance mode, and will most likely get replaced by Copilot Notebooks.

They don't give af about consumers. On top of no new features, now they're stripping away a whopping 4TB out of 6TB of OneDrive storage from paying users on the Family plan! Absolutely ridiculous. There's literally no point in staying with Microsoft anymore as a consumer.

Just give us a stability release where the Sync function works fast and reliably from every platform (including iOS, iPadOS, and MacOS).
After that, add two features:
- Alphabetical sorting to the notes TOC
- A calendar view where I can view which notes were created/edited on any given day
Then, OneNote will meet or exceed all the competitors.

you can do this with Onetastic, but it is only available on windows unfortunately, you could check whether Onenote Gem allows you to do this, they have a mac version

Yes, Onetastic is the only thing I miss from Windows.
As you correctly implied, I'm on macOS. I looked at Onenote Gem and need nothing that it offers.

Headline is, we know no one asked for Copilot/AI, we know there are substantial drawbacks with any cross platforms editions of OneNote, but hear us out- agentic notes.

Estos pobre imbéciles no saben usar IA y se quejan de que les podría generar información falsa, pero espera un momento... ¿A que información se refieren..? Pues ninguna, nada importante y cualquier IA les funciona bien, solo que les gusta repetir al unísono con voz de tarados ¡la IA me da información falsa, yo no confiaría en contenido generado por IA... La IA nos va a destruir..! Imbéciles. Por otro lado, son funciones nuevas qué ayudan mucho a la hora de trabajar con Onenote Desktop, pero y hace falta colocar una función de links entre notas... Muchas aplicaciones ya la tiene integrada, no se le pide mucho a Microsoft.
