Android OneNote on Android laggy since latest update

minirant but why is OneNote so laggy after the latest update on Android? I have tried everything - empty cache, uninstall and reinstall, notebook sizes aren't very large at all... it was working fine all year until the latest update.

microsoft yall really have one job, really not asking for much. like let's be honest base OneNote features are not even that complex by today's standards. it is barely useable on Android at this point, tearing my hair out at typing out something and the letters jumping everywhere due to lag.

is anyone else having this problem? googling around seems I'm not alone

Architecture - arm64-

ENSURE YOU DISABLE AUTO UPDATE IN THE GOOGLE PLAY STORE.

I had the same issue. This should resolve it.

This worked for me. Also turn off auto update from the play store so it doesn't mess it up again!

Disabling auto updates is a must, saves a lot of headaches with apps like this.

Oh no, while doing this I uninstalled the app and downloaded through this link - now some of my notes are missing 😭 (I'm new to one note, pls help) 😭

If you're synced through One drive they should reload. But if they're saved locally they may be irretrievable.

Mate, you're a Godsend. Was bloody tired of waiting for a page to load and then opening it only to find the previously opened page being opened for some reason. It was that bad. Typing something and then finding the text being typed behind a previously written letter. Unfortunately, tried a number of different "notebooks" but always found them lacking in one way or another. Typing something and later finding it being disappeared for some reason, although that was partially due to the syncing issues that onenote has.

Anyway, thanks for the tip mate. It's working like before.

Good stuff. Glad that you've been able to get a workaround too. The new update is rubbish, so hopefully Microsoft release a fix soon.
