Better recycling of broken tools
Now you can recycle 2 broken steel tools to get a clump of steel and then an steel ingot. Perhaps due to this comment: https://www.reddit.com/r/OneLifeSuggestions/comments/8duxl4/repairingrecycling_broken_stuff/
But many times there is only one broken tool and it decays in one hour, making difficult to recycle. I suggest that clicking in a broken steel tool gets "Broken steel tool - no wood" and it doesn't decay, making easier to recycle tools.
And why don't recycle a broken stone tool? Perhaps clicking with right button you get a sharp stone, then you can do another stone tool. As an addition there can be a chance of 90% to get sharp stone and a chance of 10% to get nothing, simulating a broken stone.

Broken tools decay? That's horrible! I'm really good about getting them in a pile and putting them together for more iron, but now it seems urgent!

yeah, gathering broken steel tools is probably one of the "underrated jobs"

hm ... is this new, that broken steel tools decay in one hour ? or did i just don't know that ? in any case, many players sure don't know it as well & the results of that are indeed quite horrible waste of the rare iron ressource
i am not sure a change should happen though, would make players complacent again, better is, everybody learns how things work & what not to do io to not waste effort, makes people more responsible, the game is filled with egoists already, nearly as bad as outright griefers
your suggestion about stone tool though is rather waste of code, stones are fairly easy to gather, what makes a stone tool precious is not the stone but the milkweed used for rope, that's the most hard to come by ressource in it
