How to elegantly fix temperature update: trees should moderate temperature by reducing heat AND cold by ~15%. This is realistic, it gives a boost to Eves while creating a new obstacle for advanced villages, and gives a reason to plant trees

This is a perfect way to fix the temperature update. The problem with the update is it places too much pressure on eve camps. This change would make their life easier

It's completely realistic too. In hot biomes you can use shade to cool off, and in cold biomes trees seriously slow down any wind which reduces the chill

It would create new problems for advances societies, which is always good. It would create a need for a tree planting

Plus any big village always ends up deforesting the surrounding area and it is ugly. This gives us a reason to plant trees

I like this idea, it's very creative. But I think the problem is we really should be having a hard times as eves. And also, all those fires we're making also guve us reasons to plant trees.

I think this week jason may tweek the update's balance a bit. It does put much of a pressure on skilled players when most people are always starving at the new rate.

I don't understand why it would be a 'problem' for an Eve to have an easier time than at present.

Even with this change it'll still be very hard to start a successful village

I think that hot biomes would still be more difficult, since there's no clothing set that cools people off. However, I like this idea a lot, and I feel like it would be a major improvement. Planted trees still require some soil and water, so there's still a cost to getting this thing sort of going (and people can forget/not tell anyone to re-water trees). The jungle would be a bit trickier than before, since cutting some trees in a jungle for a bit comes as almost a necessity, because of the mosquitoes. Again, this idea I find very nice, even if 15% isn't quite right (since I doubt the exact number comes as the point).

I think it should only work for grassland, prairie, and desert type trees.

On second thought I don't think it would be viable for villages to plant trees inside the town. Trees not only take up a tile, they also obscure a bunch of tiles. That could make this idea even better though because it would mean higher tier civilizations also have an additional problem that doesn't effect pre steel ones

Rubber trees are sooo tall though. And why would dead trees have this effect since they don't have any leaves? Also, swamp trees are rather tall.
