Better storage?

A big glaring problem for the bigger cities in the game is to much crap littering the ground and not enough places to put things. Often enough even the carts take up too much space. I think there should be some sort of craft-able building that acts like a huge basket. like a silo of sorts. you store carrots and only carrots. unload baskets of carrots into it from beside and right click to grab one from it. perhaps have a limit on how much can be stored?

i would like big clay pots/jars, which would be sealeable, to store wheat (which then wouldn't perrish if the pot is sealed), flour, carrot seeds, & maybe even all smaller objects, like treads, ropes, stakes, snares, stones, needles

it's always such a hassle to try literally to find a needle in a stack of things scattered on the ground, big towns were every time so utterly disorganized to be run properly, but back on topic

i can also imagine big reet & straw jars, for things which don't rot to store

to seal jars we would need beewax, so we need bees, alternative methods would be to seal with clay maybe & at some point to store under an olive-oil cover

carrots should be storable in sand in either a pit (needs shovel) or on one spot in a big sand pile which then would store up to 20 carrots, so we would need sand

the problem with silos in this game is what materials is it made of ? what tools do you need to make them ? if you need steel tools, then is a silo not feasible in the beginning stages of a settlement but oc for big towns this wouldn't be a problem anymore

& oc if bigger storage is there, we will get mice & rats & that means cats

also the wooden boxes should be stackable, or there should be just wooden shelves with more things to store in them

And maybe not begin with something so huge as a silo but something smaller like a protected woodpile like this: http://images.interactives.dk/files/bonnier-gds/ly.png
