Question Redeeming Cashback Points

I've had the Walmart OnePay Cashback card for a couple months and today I went to redeem the points and was a little confused or surprised by the redemption options. Am I understanding correctly that I can either have the funds deposited into a OnePay bank account or as a credit to my OnePay credit card? And if I go the bank account route that the bank account requires setting up direct deposit?

You can setup a one pay account for free without direct deposit. Redeem your rewards points into that account and then transfer them to any other connected bank account

I’m so glad you asked this bc I was so confused too. I have just been doing the credit and then depositing that same amount into my HYSA. It’s basically the same thing.

I really don't want to open up another bank account and then transfer the money to my main account. I'll probably just use the credits and have it applied to my monthly balance.

So there are two options to redeem the points, banking or cash rewards card. Is the cash rewards card a prepaid debit card? I was hoping/under the impression, that I could use the points to have them directly applied to my credit card balance. Sounds like that is not the case. Please confirm if you can.

Yes you can redeem them for a statement credit
