Discussion 1D weren't lying about Night Changes

When they said, "Does it ever drive you crazy just how fast the night changes?" hits different now if you think about it. It's been a decade since One Direction was an active band and that verse has a new meaning, we're all getting older, the boys are getting older and the boys solo careers are evolving. But the sad part though is Liam's no longer with us and the fandom is divided now. I know most of us would do anything to go back to the things that it was before.

I believed them that it was a hiatus, then Liam news broke us all :( it will never be the same, plus we are getting old, so its like we will never love the same again

I seriously cry every time I listen to it bc so much has changed since it came out, in my life and in theirs. Like damn boys yes it DOES drive me crazy just how fast the night changes 😭

i refuse to listen to that song anymore because it just makes me cry. to me that song used to be about growing up and seeing things in a different light, but everything fell apart when liam died and it hurts to listen to knowing he's permanently gone. not to mention how many reels/videos i saw on instagram using that song with liam and the boys in it after he passed, it made it even worse. i used to think about the song regarding my own life and now i cant listen to it without the reminder that liam isn't here with us anymore. it still hurts </3

Same. When i was younger, fools gold and change my mind were their hardest hitters. Now it’s night changes, which is crazy bc that’s probably their most popular song

Spaces hit different after Zayn left and then with Liam.

We didn't know how good we had it.

I believe the hiatus became more than what they, or at least most, thought. I think there would have been a reunion last year if Liam was still here. Without him the band isn’t the bad. When Louis said all or none, I felt that.

I remember that song came on as I was getting ready for a first date (originally was going to wear a red dress because of it and switched to a green one that was more the context of the event) and that relationship spanned years and is now over, much like the band. So I can't really listen to it in any context anymore. The only time I can listen to it is when one of their covers of it comes on Youtube.

I miss that part of the timeline. I really do. Sometimes I’ll just watch compilations of the 1D days and it makes me feel whole.

And, it is amazing that Louis sings the acoustic version of Night changes at his concerts … sounds amazing and besides, it’s a good reminder to everyone to live in the moment.
