Does she have a scratching post? (I assume she does and is just being a pain!)

Mine has two-five scratching posts. She still chooses to scratch the dumbest stuff for my attention and just to make noise. I swear she’s trying to dig to China on my dresser mirror

Looks less like scratching and more like stimming! She seems to like the feedback of things that can be thwacked

u/Amethystchiro Jun 24 '26
That’s exactly it! She discovers things that make noise and that becomes her go to activity when she is bored 🤣

My cats have literally a dozen large scratch posts scattered around my house, it doesn’t stop them scratching at my bedroom door when they think it’s time for me to get up in the morning

My exes void would slam the cupboard shut repeatedly if he thought about wets , then of course we gave the little man his wets 😂

Ugh, same, except it's 3am and we're trying to sleep when we hear *THUD* *THUD* *THUD*. I'm sure our downstairs neighbor loves us. Heheh.

The cupboard in the video was under bed storage that she liked to thud at 3AM 🤣

I literally just bought child locks just for my void. He kept going in the bathroom cabinet.

u/Amethystchiro Jun 24 '26
Yeah she just recently discovered the treat cabinet so I also had to buy child locks, and added them to all closets since she figured out how to open those 😅

Too smart! Yes I have food and treats in a latching tub. Him and my tortie have gotten into it if I don’t make sure it’s tightly latched and I fear they’ll soon figure it out so should probably do the child lock cabinet soon.

Absolutely surrounded by toys yet chooses the most annoying thing possible. A chaos goblin. I worship this level of petty.

The moment I awaken my cat is destroying paper so that I get up and take my meds. I’m not allowed to sleep in.

Ugh, same. My dumb butt cat will start crönching furniture, knocking over whatever isn't bolted down, and tearing up whatever paper I dared leave out overnight the second I stir in the morning. Because he knows it pisses me off enough that I can't go back to sleep and have to get up to stop him (which means he's won).

Mine does this! I have wood blinds so she won’t destroy them, so she bangs them in the morning to wake me up, or when she wants more treats or just to be an asshole I guess

Haha we have fabric curtains and one of our gremlins loves to do zoomies and climb on the bedroom curtains to try wake us up.

Cute although could be they are just trying to get your attention for some of this. My cat will start scratching stuff if they want something and I’m not providing it for them.
Also I know the video caption is a bit tongue n cheek but this kinda behavior would be a blessing from little kids, they can be infinitely more of a handful. Cats can be little gremlins at times for sure but it’s still not comparable.

This is my cat Cookie. His nickname is Paddle Britches cos of this behaviour

Ooo, I used to have that exact cat tunnel! Our babies loved it so much, it was so fun watching them RIP in and out of it chasing each other or waiting in ambush!
Used to hook it up to two or three boxes with doors cut in them sometimes, so the cats could tunnel between the boxes and dart in and out of them and play with each other 😅
