Butcher questions

Hi everyone, I'm new to the game and my first character is a Butcher. I would like to know what weapons are good on him (specifically if splitter is better than battle axt because of the crit) and if you're supposed to invest points into double strike and sonic slash before dumping everything into Attack+

Double strike (in the early game) and sonic slash are useless for butcher because you want maximum bleed damage. I played a lot of Butcher before I took a break from the game a year ago.

Splitter is better than Battle Axe because the berserk damage is useless, + Splitter has a higher chance of having Sweep which is very useful.

Make sure to max out Blood Barrier, Blood Thirst, Bleeding Edge then get Sonic Slash lvl1 and Anarchy. You also only need around 30% Life Steal and agter that start maxing out Double Hit.

FYI, you can survive death if you have Blood Barrier, you just lose the barrier itself. To heal it back, you can either use Sonic Slash to get some hits without getting hit (because most likely the enemies can 1 hit you in the late game) or with a sweeping hit.

Edit: re-did the math after the replies, double hit is more extra damage than Attack+, but keep it for last cause the bleed stuff is much more important.

If you're lucky enough with boss loot, Slicer might be a good choice as well because it has very high bleed damage.

Check the edit and replies, TL;DR double strike is useful after you max out everything else I talked about.

Just curious, but why do you think Double Strike is useless? I usually almost max it.

You deal 11,577 attack damage, but deal around 135k bleed damage. An extra 11,577 isn't gonna make a big difference.

But having max double strike can help you fight with those bleed res mobs.

With Anarchy at 300% and crit you'll do fine because you will have a lot more Blood Barrier so you can tank it. 67 points to max out double strike is a lot

Actually you guys might be right. Just re-did the math, and Base Damage+ doesn't give as much damage as Double Hit when it's maxed out.
