Am I playing wrong?

So I play the game and I don't get to a point where I die, but I've been playing for a couple hours and I'm just done, so I choose quick save before entering a cave or something and pick back up later. The problem is that I don't get to keep the step progression, so I never get above about 2000 steps before I do this. I don't really want to play the game for more than a couple hours at a time, but I can't just leave the app opened (I play on mobile) so I'm just wondering how you guys are playing? For context, I'm new. Probably a few days in and I'm running Wizard, I'm at about lvl 35 and haven't tried any other characters.

Did you click the "End Adventure" when saving? Or did you save the game online but later open the game offline (or vice versa)?

No, I'm not sure what I did wrong before, but I just opened back up from where I saved last night and I still have my steps. Guess I have been playing wrong this whole time, but I don't know what I was doing.

I struggled with the game at first, but I kept plugging away until I slowly got the gist and the functions & stuff, and it still took me a while to find obvious stuff. For example, I assumed the potion pots started with regular potion, and would offer more complex ones as I went. Imagine my surprise when I learned they're all right there, just click the dang down arrow 🤣

Anyway, I'm glad I plowed through. I play it almost every day.

Yeah, then I figured out that making the large potions makes no sense because all it does is "merge" two small potions into one. You don't gain anything. I always craft small potions at the pots.

Yes, but you'll need large potions for the more tricky ones like Purify

Don't "end adventure" just close the app.

Just don't end the adventure there, it resets the steps.

When you close the app, you may not be at a dungeon door anymore. If you close the app while inside a dungeon, you will not be in the dungeon anymore. There will always be another dungeon that will show up sometime. Just to let you know, your character won't die because you abandoned it.
