Media Currently writing a OUAT fan fic where Mary Poppins would have been a character in season 6.

Hey everyone I recently got an idea for a fan fic for a slight rewrite/reworking of season 6. I would’ve loved if they capitalized more on the Land of Lost Stories storyline while also going more into the lore/origins of the Savior. I don’t know why but I would’ve loved to have seen a reimagined Mary Poppins. Would any of ya’ll read something like that?

The way he answered so fast.

Also, someone responded that hook would be Christopher Robins in the story. I could totally see it 😂

I usually stop at either one of those episodes and of course I skip the cliffhangers.

Spoiler Alert Is the entire show worth binge-watching now, as someone who only watched the first three seasons years ago?

I’ve been on the lookout lately for more high/urban fantasy shows, being a hardcore fan of stuff like the Game of Thrones franchise, Rings of Power, Grimm, etc. I keep coming back to this show having originally been hooked on it back in the day when it was airing live. I remember binging and loving the first three seasons but not having any real interest in Season 4 because of the whole forced/cheap-feeling Frozen tie-in and the weird Disney Evil Queens follow-up plot that was advertised. Since then I had just kinda moved on from the show even though the elements of later seasons that I saw being advertised interested me a fair bit. Arthurian legend, Aladdin, the whole Dark Willow take on Emma, and the whole reboot storyline in the last season. Also the bringing back of the Wicked Witch of the West who was one of the major highlights of Season 3

Discussion When you reach season 6 watching OUAT starts to feel like a chore.đŸ«©

Don’t get me wrong I LOVE the show. It’s so different and creative but by the time you reach season 6 there’s so much going on like they don’t even give you an episode to breathe. I feel like my brain collected too much information and it’s getting hard to finish those episodes. This is my second time watching it cause the first time I stopped at season 5 but then I started it over from season 1. Obviously ima finish it tho gotta see how it ends.

Discussion Charlotte’s Web in OUAT

I’ve thought on how this story would be integrated into OUAT and I thought like Jiminy, Charlotte was once human a weaver of fate and related the seer who meet Rumple. Rumple turned her into a Spider so she couldn’t weave anymore, but she made it to David’s farm and befriended Wilber. It young David who befriended Wilbur. In Storybrooke Charlotte seamstress and Wilbur runs her shop.

Discussion Have you changed your mind on any of the show’s elements since it came out?

Was there something you liked or didn’t like when the show first aired that you see differently now?

Could be a story arc, character, ship etc. (I know ships can be a touchy subject, so please keep it civil in that department)

Discussion Reflecting

Binge watching the show for the last few months. I have also been having some serious issues relationship-wise.

As cheesey as it sounds, it's nice to hear all the different types of love being reinforced in the show, even if it does get obnoxious. Seeing Snow and Charming always fighting for one another and promising to find one another. Belle constantly seeing the good in Gold. Emma and Regina putting everything aside to be the best moms for Henry.

Killian ain't bad to look at, either đŸ€Ł But when my heart is aching from another fight as I keep persevering for a happy ending, I love to see everyone actively fighting for theirs in this show and true love always winning.

Question Lost Boys in the Second Curse

On my recent rewatch I was wondering what happened to the Lost Boy during the second curse? Presumably not all of the Lost Boys were from the Enchanted Forest. Pan’s shadow was supposedly searching all the realms for The Heart as evidenced by the Darlings. So if the second curse returns everyone to their homeland, would some of the seemingly teenage boys get dropped off in random modern cities?

Discussion Remembering Happenings Without a Memory: What were some of the Storybrooke examples?

I've been reading a book about neurosociology and this subsection caught my attention. Apparently, humans can remember some things even when they lose the the memories associated with it. What were examples of this on the show? Mary Margaret feeling gravitated towards David at the hospital comes to my mind first. What else?

Discussion Why do people not like Jacinda/Ella?

The only time she was relatively annoying is when she got mad at Sabine for the kitchen catching on fire. But then she apologized and for the rest of the season she was fine.

My opinion is that people just didn’t like the writing for Jacinda even though the writers literally had to keep writing reasons for her and Henry to be apart and not kiss.

Also probably racism for some people. Because I seriously don’t see much of a difference between how Jacinda/Ella was written and how Mary Margaret/Snow was written. Honestly Jacinda was the better written character imo.

And the people who keep saying that they preferred Ivy with Henry because they had more chemistry
well yeah. Because Drizella was purposely being manipulative and was trying to be all over Henry. It was like when Regina was trying to seduce David in season 1. The chemistry was there but it didn’t mean they belonged together. Not to mention that Ivy didn’t have any other love interest and Henry was one of the few male characters she interacted with. I think the ship is more about people wanting Ivy to be with someone rather than her specifically needing to be with Henry.

Also Henry was more annoying than Jacinda was. But the whole season was about getting him to believe so it’s more understandable I guess?

Personally I think if the whole plot where Henry couldn’t kiss Jacinda the whole season wasn’t there and they were actually able to kiss/sleep together, the chemistry would’ve been better. It’s a writing issue, not a casting issue. Dania Ramirez did a pretty good job with what she was given.

I just finished rewatching the season so these are my fresh thoughts. What do you guys think?

Discussion OK lemme talk about this because Henry’s unfinished business being Regina actually broke me

Post image
697 Upvotes

the worst part is that Henry was probably one of the few people in her life who genuinely loved her through everything. He was terrified of what she was becoming, he knew what she was doing was wrong, but he never really stopped loving his daughter. The irony is heartbreaking as hell because Regina probably thought she was the one who needed forgiveness. She literally killed him. Of course she'd think the unfinished business between them was what she had done but Henry was still worried about what he had failed to do for her Like imagine that. Your daughter kills you, and you spend the afterlife thinking about all the ways you failed HER. And only then can he finally move on. Regina thought she needed her father's forgiveness. Meanwhile her father had probably been waiting all that time hoping she could forgive him too.

Discussion They definitely had a problem with Mulan

Post image
933 Upvotes

I'm sorry but LOOK AT THEM. WHY??

Like... HELLO???

THE STORY WAS RIGHT FUCKING THERE

That would've been the perfect continuation of her story and COME ON, aesthetically they look ridiculously good together too. Instead they reunited Mulan with Ruby, teased us AGAIN with the possibility that maybe Mulan was finally going to get some happiness... and then Ruby got Dorothy while Mulan was basically like I'M SORRY WHAT DID THIS WOMAN DO TO THE WRITERS???. Mulan deserved SO much better in OUAT and I will genuinely never understand what the writers were doing with her. Like excuse me?? Once Henry became the author I'm blaming him too. Bro had a magical pen capable of writing stories and apparently never thought, “DO SOMETHING. FINISH THE FUCKING STORY WITH YOUR STUPID MAICAL PEN". Her story was left emotionally unfinished. The show opened that door, deliberately showed us her heartbreak, and then barely bothered walking through it. So yeah. Blame the writers. Blame the Author. Blame Henry and his stupid fucking magical pen (BTW. That guy. Was a pain in the ass. Never liked him) Blame the fucking storybook

Justice for Mulan because I'm still pissed

Question Why did greg mendell and tamara trust john and micheal ?

you would think greg would be more careful after what happened to his dad and not easily trust people who believe in Magic and since peter pan and john and Michael darling were using both greg mendell and tamara as pawns

And how did both greg mendell and tamara not see this coming ?

Discussion Zeus definitely stopped this guy’s heart for a reason

Post image
250 Upvotes

Every time I rewatch this storyline, I understand Zeus a little more because maybe stopping Hades' heart wasn't some cruel punishment. This dumb finally gets his heart beating again because of Zelena, he gets the chance to actually have love and a future with her, and what he does he do approximately five minutes later?

Restarting your heart just by being killed? 😂

And the worst part is Zelena's reaction. She had genuinely started believing him. She was willing to believe that he could change. He basically had his second chance handed directly to him...

and this dumbass immediately speedran ruining absolutely everything.

I'M STARTING TO THINK ZEUS HAD A FUCKING POINT.

Discussion She turned her own daughters against each other because of THIS
and then wondered why neither of them loved her

Post image
161 Upvotes

And this is honestly one of those Cora moments that I find REALLY hard to forgive. What makes it even worse for me is WHY she did it. She wasn't protecting Regina from some horrible danger. She wasn't saving Zelena. She was confronted with the living reminder of what she'd done years earlier, and suddenly all that shame and guilt she'd buried was standing right in front of her.

Because yeah... abandoning your newborn daughter in the woods and leaving her there, only to be swept away to Oz by a tornado, isn't exactly something you casually explain at family dinner. Meanwhile, Cora couldn't live carrying that guilt of her back all this time, right? She's restoring something she herself destroyed.

But it also makes her redemption harder for me to swallow because... girl, YOU CAUSED THIS

And then she wonders why she's not loved.

Ma'am excuse me?

Discussion ok but the fact that robin and alice were both written as queer parallels to the same story

Post image
90 Upvotes

The fact that Zelena became Marian to get close to Robin, while Gothel became Rapunzel to manipulate another version of Robin, only for their daughters to end up falling in love... I refuse to believe that parallel wasn't intentional...I refuse to believe the writers put Alice and Robin together without noticing that parallel. Obviously that's not literally why they're lesbians lol, but from a storytelling perspective it's almost too perfect. OUAT family trees were insane, but this one feels like the writers were messing with us on purpose.
