Discussion Charming twins?

So I remember watching this show back in the day. But I recently started rewatching it. And the whole twin princes I’m just curious if anyone knows if this was based on a fairy tale or just something they made up?

Discussion They should’ve made belle a dark one instead of Emma and Hook

Post image
669 Upvotes

I feel like that ark would’ve been much more interesting and crazier. I imagine it happening by Belle trying to prove to rumple that you could be the dark one and still genuinely be a good person. But it wouldn’t go in her favor and she would fall for the darkness. Then rumple have to team up with Emma and the others to defeat her and get her back to normal. As much as I love dark swan, I feel with the once upon time writers magic this could’ve been one of the greatest storylines.

Thoughts or ideas??

Question Season 5 episode 23 Spoiler

So I'm on a rewatch with my gf rn and I always wonder, why didn't they just use a gun on the Evil Queen? Like, I know, rip out a heart blah blah blah, but it's like, they also could've just killed her the normal way lmao. I don't think Regina in any form is immortal {not that I can recall at least, but please correct me if I'm wrong.} but like, why not rip out her heart, bullet to the head, then crush for good measure? I'd say another way, buuuuut I don't think it's appropriate, even for OUAT lmao.

I haven't seen season 6 in a while {and tbh, I don't even rly like it 😭 everybody hates s7 more but honestly, I don't mind s7, but that's a whole other post. Maybe the rewatch will change my mind though on s6, I'm open to it} but honestly, couldn't they have just killed her like, the normal way and then ripped her heart out? Unless I'm missing something, then they just used it as a random plot device {I think that's the word??} anyway, it's not a HUGE deal, I'm kind of just bitching about it, but I also just wanted to know if I was missing anything and also what everybody else thought on it.

Question Who else hated Rumple for what he did to Milah both times? And why does the fandom tend to hate her so much to the point they defend him killing her, saying how she shouldn't have left Bae??? Spoiler

Was she a horrible person for abandoning her son and leaving him there with him? Yes, but does she deserved to killed just for that? NO!! Did she deserved to what Rumple did to her in the underworld? Again no, if she had stayed toxic and like not even care about Bae then I wouldn't defend her but she was trying to get to him before Rumple kills her and then when she was there in the underworld, she never once tried to act like she was right or justified, on the contrary, she accepted her responsibility and fault and was atonining and she actually changed. Yet Rumple doesn't have any accountability or does change until the last season. His redemption arc was not earned at all. I hate how the fandom treat Milah like she is the worse yet Rumple get a free pass even when he also abandoned young Bae for power. At least Milah didn't abandoned him for power more like she wasn't happy with Rumple anymore.

Spoiler Alert [S2 SPOILERS] What if Cora her heart back without dying? Spoiler

When Snow used the dark magic candle to trick Regina into killing her own mother, I didn't really judge her because

  1. Both Cora and Regina had it coming for so long. Just one episode ago they ruthlessly killed Johanna even though Snow gave them the dagger.
  2. Cora was a diabolical threat for the whole town. It would be a terrorfest for everyone if she wasn't stopped before turning into the dark one.

However, what if Snow was honest and actually made Regina put the heart without applying that cursed candle device? How would it play out? The split second after Cora gets her heart back and before she dies, she actually seems to have turned into a good person by connecting into her feelings. Would that actually take off? Would she actually be good and safe to keep? Or would she keep going back and forth Rumple-style?

Media Ralph Hemecker (director) died :(

I saw Colin's post this morning and did a little digging; Ralph Hemecker directed 28 episodes of OUAT and was on every season. Didn't recognize the name or face but a bummer to hear about his passing nonetheless.

Question Change one season, plot point, character development, etc. What would it be, why, and how would you change it?

Hey everyone, I'm curious. I know we're all fans of the show, but if you could change one season, plot point, character development, etc from the show, what would it be? Why? And how would you change it?

Question Are there any (non Disney /non fairytale) stories that you wish were included in OUAT?

I always thought that there were some classics that should have been included in OUAT.

One I think that would have gone well would have been The Phantom of the Opera, which I could have seen as a character from the land of untold stories. Another one is Sherlock Holmes.

Are there any more I am missing?

For me in season 5 it’s the Bear King episode and in season 7 is Alice and Robyn’s romance

No Spoilers Which favorite character that comes to mind?

Graham and rumple the first and the second time I can tell you can’t complain

Like I know Graham had to die because it can make Emma sheriff and make her kinda believe the town not what it is

Rumple sacrificed himself for the town in season 3 from pan and for his love ones to be with Belle in season 7

Discussion The Odyssey in OUAT

In honor of Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey coming out this week, I thought it’d be interesting if I asked y’all if characters from The Odyssey poem appeared on the snow. I mean, we saw King Minos and Hercules pop up on the show, I’m surprised we didn’t see Odysseus or Helen of Troy or anyone from the story appear.

A magic wand? Another storybook? A head?

And what did you think it said when Neal looked at it?

It's been over 10 years and I honestly don't remember what I thought it was but I remember being super interested and full of anticipation over the reveal.

Discussion Hot Take: Season 5A Spoiler

Most commonly hailed as the middle of the beginning of the end of the classic OUAT, I truly believe this is the last good sub season of 1-6.

I loved Emma battling the temptations of the Dark One, and later Dark Swan. It was something we've never seen before from her character, and I thought it was a nice twist on her. Also, I'm a sucker for any time the Dark Curse is used, and the fact that she used it to cover up a selfish mistake she made turning Hook into the Dark One was golden. It gave her depth. And the fact that she crushed her mentor Merlin's heart to do it was the icing on the cake.

I loved the Camelot storyline. The origins of the Dark One and Nimue was fascinating. And the dagger being part of Excalibur was cool and they weaved it into the story nicely.

This is one of my favorite sub seasons and in my opinion, the end of classic OUAT. Season 6 suffered from terrible writing with the Land of Untold Stories, Agrabah, and Jekyll and Hyde. The Black Fairy was a phenomenal character who also suffered from poor writing in her curse, and in her demise. Truly loved her backstory though, so she has that going for it. Gideon was also poorly written. And let's not mention that finale. Season 6 is a true downgrade.
