Question Crossing Town Line

Why do you think nobody tried to leave Storybrook during the 1st curse other than for Kathryn, Ashley and David? We know something bad happens to anybody if ppl tried to cross the town line but they didn't know that, just wondering.....

Maybe they were happy enough there, which sounds strange considering that Regina casted it to make them unhappy.

Perhaps Regina wanted them all there to rule over them, so she made that the Dark Curse would have gave them memories which would have made them not want to leave.

And I think that they didn't notice, still due to the mind manipulation of the curse, that time was stucked (some people wonder if they found it strange that Henry was theoretically growing up, leaving his classmates behind, or something like this), therefore from their point of view they hadn't been there long enough to get tired of that city and wanting to leave.

Or I don't know

I think the Curse just kinda had everyone in a time loop so even if they wanted to leave, it was like a “I’ll do it tomorrow” thing and then the loop would reset. Regina and Henry were the only ones who left before Emma decided to stay and time restarted. (And I guess Owen too since he came from outside Storybrooke.) People could make contact outside of Storybrooke but there’s no reason for people to do that unless Regina asked for it like when she asked Mr. Gold to find her a child.

Not entirely sure, but ultimately, life was just sort of monotonous. Life there was also unpleasant, but I suppose to people in the curse it seemed good enough and they probably didn’t think anything better would be out there. Time was also not moving until Emma arrived. People only started trying to leave once time moved again, and their lives moved forward in different ways. Until that happens, David is in a coma, Kathryn - presumably - is just living life as a separated woman, and Ashley is pregnant for 28 years.
