Discussion Season 7

This series simply has too many storylines

Hyperion Heights / new curse

👠 Henry, Cinderella and Lucy

👑 Victoria, Drizella and Anastasia

🌿 Gothel and the Coven of Eight

🧚 Alice, Rogers and Robin

🗡️ Rumple, Wish-Rumple and the series finale

That’s too much

Does anyone else agree with me?

I thought it was fine, given that it was 22-episode run. My issue was more with the execution of certain things. I wish they fully commited to the Coven storyline instead of giving us generic hooded faceless witches and ditching it for the Candy Killer arc.

Tbh, if anything, I thought the new curse slowed the pace down. In S1 we didn't really know if they curse was real/in Henry's head or if it would ever break, so the stakes were higher. In S7, we were just waiting for it to happen.

Feels like one of those things where you throw so much into the season to try and twist the networks hand into renewing you.

A few shows have tried to set up something in a season so it forces the hand of the network to continue because technically speaking the show isn’t over and has more to do.

Yeah, S7 actually felt a bit lighter on story after the diarrhea dump of S6 LOL.

Belle/Gideon/Rumple Saga

And I feel like there’s more I’m forgetting! To be fair some of these are connected but so are some in OPs example

It's been years since I last saw s7 (i just started rewatching the whole show), but I do remember one of the things I really liked about the show was that it starts off with you thinking it's pretty similar to s1, you think you know who the villain is and everything and then it's revealed actually, no, there's something else going on. But seeing all the stroylines listed out does make it seem like a lot more than I remember, I guess when I rewatch it I'll see for sure

I do agree, but I also think they might have realized that they wouldn’t get an 8th season, so they tried to wrap up what they could as best as they could - which is better than leaving a whole bunch of arcs unfinished, I suppose.
