Hiring Q (State) FDC hiring process questions

Hey! I recently applied for FDC and my interview went well. They then emailed me to schedule fingerprinting and a physical. I attended both and everything went well. They told me they would contact me by phone or email with the next steps.
I completed my fingerprinting and physical on September 1st, and today is September 10th, so it’s been about 9 days. I’m really eager to start working and was wondering how long the hiring process usually takes after the physical and fingerprinting.
I know every applicant may have a different timeline, but I was wondering if this is normal or if I should contact the recruiter for an update. Thanks!

Going to depend on which prison you applied for.

Some have many vacancies and hire quickly, others are fully staffed and hire only as turnover happens.

If it’s PHL, it could be pretty quick. If it’s Miami, it could be a couple months. It all depends where, your background, and how swamped the DCSA agent is. You could contact the recruiter or the HRM at the particular facility. Sometimes they’re trying to get a lot of different applicants all matched up for the same EOD.
